Nice review :) Fun Fact: Pendennis Castle is the name of 4079, a GWR Castle Class steam locomotive. It was sold to Hamersley Iron, an Australian iron ore producer in 1977. Eventually returning to Didcot Railway Centre in 1999. She is still being restored to this day :)

Will, Thanks for great video. I really enjoyed your reactions and comments. Seems you really enjoyed this. As for the sounds you did not hear, they may be sounds that only function when the loco is moving. Things like brake squeal for example.

I live very close to the didcot railway centre and it's really a great place, I'm hoping to starts volunteering there when I'm old enough. It's got some amazing strains and I'll never forget the day the Sir Nigel Greasly came there and I went on the footplate! It's where I got my first diesel loco, a class 08 in BR grey livery with the Scotty dog thing. It would be amazing if you visited and is extremely like to see you there!

Wonderful colour scheme on 57604. But this is not new it is based on the 'GWR 150 Years Green' which first appeared in 1985 and was originally carried by 47079 'G J Churchward' / 47484 'Isambard Kingdom Brunel' / 47500 'Great Western' and 47628 'Sir Daniel Gooch' for the 150th Anniversary of the GWR in 1985. After these had all been either repainted or withdrawn 60081 was the next recipient of the GWR Green some time in the early 2000s as Old Oak Common was Shed 081. After this loco went out of service a GBRf Class 66 was repainted in GWR Green in 2015 as the next recipient of this wonderful livery. Finally 57604 has been repainted as part of the FGW rebranding to Great Western Trains. Didcot Railway Centre or 'Kettle City' as rail staff know it better as is well worth a visit if you ever get the chance. Finally Class 57s were nicknamed 'Bodysnatchers' because of their closeness to the Class 47s which they originally were as the first few came into service with Freightliner in 1997 - 1998.

+Apoapsis Gaming (Charles) I don't think there are any class 422 models, but you could probably use a Bachmann 4Cep and swap one of the centre coaches for a buffet car. I guess swapping body shells would do.
@ApoapsisGaming8 жыл бұрын
Highspeedline01 well 422's, 421's and 420's are all the same with the difference of a buffet car in place of the intermediate trailer, so getting a 4CIG would be that same as getting a 4BIG just without a Buffet. still don't know about the 442 Wessex.

There is technically such thing as a class 57 as it has a TOPS allocation. Just as 69s won’t be class 56s, 57s aren’t 47s.

Like your video. In terms of sound, it's more like an aircraft taking off from a carrier. Have the chance to purchase either DCC or DCC and sound of Pendennis Castle. Now that I have heard the quality of Bachmann sound, it is a no no for me. I will be going for DCC and getting sound fitted retrospectively. I have over twenty American locos, mainly MTH and the quality is so much better and very much cheaper. Their chips come with 28 functions.
@grootsan6 жыл бұрын
What a nice looking loco ! The sound isn't familiar to me but it sounds all right. I still have Bachmann's very first 47404 with DCC Sound (2008) in immaculate condition but it is a World apart from this one in looks and in sound ! kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKLbe3h5eJWCibs
