I feel you man, actually I have the same problem right now with guitar... I've played for 5 years, but now when I watch other guitar youtubers I've been comparing myself too, which is bad. If I can get some kind of career with guitar later in life that would be great, I've been playing since I was 10. But yeah, I need to stop comparing myself, enjoy the time I get to play my guitar, and just take things slow. I need to stop worrying about things, things in general, and give my worries to God. Thank you man for helping me and a lot of other people, take care all!

Hi jak. You probably won’t see this comment but I have to say, you’re my biggest inspiration in life. You’ve taught me so many lessons and my life has gotten better. I was not in a good position earlier this year. My screen time was super high and I didn’t care about anything else. I was so desperate and looking at girls online. I came across you in my fyp when you only had 10k subscribers. I watched a few of your videos and I’m so glad I did. I learnt to focus on the important things in life and my drumming and other hobbies have significantly improved. I’ve started fishing and doing other activities which clear my mind instead of scrolling on my phone. I’ve found myself with an amazing girl in this generation and we genuinely care about eachother. You might think I’m overreacting but I’m not. Never stop making these videos man, they make as bigger impact than you think. All respect to you, you saved me from a massive downfall in life🤝👊

Hey Jak, I'm really not at the part in life where I can start getting out there and doing stuff but I do have a hobby, making maps for a game. At first I started making maps being I thought it was fun and I wanted to do it for my entertainment, but then once I compared them to other's people's work I started to be disappointed in myself, I compared my work to some of the greatest creators and it felt like I needed to better, so I kept trying to do better and better but in reality I was mentally draining myself, I wasn't satisfied and I had to keep going, it felt like I was stop in a time loop of trying to improve to the point I wasn't enjoying myself anymore. I hope this video helps me enjoy the more entertaining side of maps instead of trying to come out as best, thank you!

It's actually crazy bro you're pretty much telling the story of my teenage years. I was super insecure as a school kid and I did basketball just to be better than my mates and I pretty much went through the exact same thing as you. My outlet and my strengths were more creative stuff like writing and music so that's sort of my version of making 'KZbin videos' and ever since I made those my main hobby I've been a lot happier. I find it's always best to just keep to your strengths and the way God made you and you can't go wrong. Thanks for sharing your story mate.

Hey, I’m the same age too and I think I have a similar addiction, how I would describe it was if something was unperfect or semt out of place, I would scrap the whole thing, I did this with gta 5, if something felt off like I died or or didn’t do the mission perfectly, I would uninstall the game and re-download it, same thing with my minecraft worlds, if I felt like I was building a house that didn’t look good, I would delete the world and start over again, idk if this is relatable but I do think it is some weird ocd perfection thing that can really screw us over

Hey Jak, this might not be the best speech to show how much I appreciate you and your videos, but I hope it does show some sign of gratitude. You see we actually did have similar lifestyles, first off I started from gaming and I wanted to go pro, I would grind Fortnite repeatedly just to get better, to the point I became obsessed, but then later on I got introduced into the game of basketball and gaming wasn't my type of thing anymore, although I made the basketball team and I'm a starter. I started to become more and more obsessed each time I play, especially because at that time I was 5'7 and my mates were around 6'2 or 6'4, I started comparing myself to the top high school prospects and I basically didn't have a life outside basketball, and as of now I realized the sports might not be for me, I still play it though but I'm going to stop the comparison and have fun with my friends, play basketball with them while we still can, and trust the process and if it's God Will, maybe I will still make the NBA. Thank You again Jak Piggott

Hey Jak bro I really would appreciate you responding to this comment. So I’m 18 years old going on 19 in March 2024. I’m very insecure about who I am. You see at the age of 16 I began personal development and did that till about 17 after that I just stopped. That made me feel pretty bad. In 2022 I then started a KZbin channel covering events in Ukraine I really like war and I love covering the conflict. But my channel sucks I have 362 subscribers after 90 videos. And when I see guys like you with hundreds of thousands of subs and your a year younger than me. I feel very insecure I’m proud of you man but I just hate the current state I’m in.

1/Comparison is the death of happiness. 2/Put in the action and let go of the outcome 3/ It is not what we take from the world that makes us happy, it is what we give to the world. In other words a part, not all of our life is spent serving others selflessly. We do this service without being caught IE: we are the only one who knows, and maybe a small group who we are also working with knows we do this service. 4/Find a higher power but do not get caught up in fundamentalism. Go on a search for compassion, understanding and love, not lust. Do the above and life will be rich beyond your dreams and this does not mean money. 👍

Jak you're like 17 right? No hate bro you're just talking like you've fully experienced life when in reality yours is only just starting. There's a lot more you (and I) are gonna learn but I do think your advice on Nofap / Screentime etc. is good, just I can tell you don't have a lot of experience in other areas which is no shame by the way, just making sure you understand that you still have a lot of life to live. Of course we are all blessed but you need to focus on yourself and keep your head down with your grind. I don't know how you are in school or off the camera but don't let the internet fame get to you bro. You give good advice but there's still a lot that's going to happen in your life. Don't fall into the trap that is pride. Edit: I really liked how you ended the video though. There's a lot of power in not caring about what other people think and not taking it so deep. We're all just humans on earth. No one's opinion is better or worse than someone else's. Great video Jak

I know this comment will probably not get seen but rather buried under the pile of other horse shit but, even I had this about working out my first few months..... In the gym if i would do even 1 rep with an improper form I would try and do another and if I couldn't I just would do the whole set again, so because of this 12 reps sets turned into 20, 30 sometimes even 40 reps sets and 10 sets for every major muscle in a week turned into 15, 17 sets a week bro and because of this little toxic perfectionist mindset where I would just comment on my own inability made me hate the gym more and more to the point where i just stopped going to the gym. It made my mind subconsciously relate gym with negativity and i hated myself for it.
