Yeah, I work at a grocery store and back when we had paper labels I would have an 8 hour night shift taking down all the old tags and putting up all the new tags for the weekly flyer, and the day shifts would have a good hour or two replacing labels. We transitioned to electronic labels in 2019, and honestly it's pretty neat (we have a program that tells us which tags are low battery or unresponsive). It's definitely lessened the work load but with a store as big as ours there's constantly tags getting damaged from old lady's carts, and they do fall off sometimes. Looked under 4/5 aisled today and found over 30 electronic tags. I could see the electronic tags working well for a smaller merchandise area like Snake Discovery tho.

thats a really fun idea! They should do it with rex. A lot of places in FL will let you feel alligators little chopped up hot dogs on these plastic "fishing rods" (basically a stick with a string that has a plastic thing to stick the meat on and they bite it off. it would be good enrichment for rex and its really fun to do lol. and they would have a monopoly on the market for gator feedings in their local area i bet lol. you can find that all over the place in FL, but it could actually be a big draw for them in Minnesota
@IvysPoison19873 жыл бұрын
Yeah, nah. Feeding programs can be extremely stressful on the animals, can expose them to diseases and parasites and Emily and Ed don’t strike me as the kind of people to unnecessarily stress out their animals. Especially when you start reading about the feeding shows they have around the world. Trust me that shot needs to be eradicated. The animals aren’t there for human entertainment
@ArtzyZero3 жыл бұрын
Or perhaps being able to sponsor a reptile once they've gotten the zoo section open? I feel with each animal having different and specific feeding requirements and Snake Discovery having so many fans that it might be difficult to keep track of food donations. Or they have a donation bin and people can choose to leave a donation (be it money or physical products) to help local reptile charities or the store in general.
@CHLOCHLOLP3 жыл бұрын
@@IvysPoison1987 can doesnt mean it has to be tho, if they limit the amount of people who can do it per week then i dont see how it would be that bad. they show their animals for people all the time at schools and events which can be very stressful when done improperly but they seem to know how to keep contact with the public as stress free as possible.

They need to put a commemorative plaque up there listing all of the names of the humans that helped put the facility together, and they need to make sure that Mandy gets an extra special mention because Mandy has showed up at least once every facility update.

I'm so happy for you guys. You all worked so hard and made your dreams come true. With hearts bigger than the moon for animals and taking the time to have some personal time with your guests is so heartwarming. I love you guys so much. I wish I lived closer to apply for a job there. Keeping up with all your success here on KZbin has made me really save up so I can maybe one day start my own collection and try breeding one day myself. You guys are amazing and I am so proud of how you guys have grown so much throughout your progress. I can't wait to one day come down and meet you all personally and even take home a new friend from you. :) again, love you guys. Keep it up

Emily and Ed, I just wanted to say I'm so incredibly happy for you. You guys have worked so hard and honestly your facility is something I've dreamed of doing for the last 12 years. When you work pet retail there's always that part of you that wishes you could do things differently, and the adoptable and locally bred animals was always my goal, as well as having educational fixtures. You guys both deserve all the success! Man it would be a dream to come work at Snake Discovery one day, I just don't know how y'all handle the snow 👀 Ed, pro tip, the bigger bags are easier. Curling the top does let out a bit of air but is easier for the customer to open at home. And instead of cupping from the side, I literally just grab straight down and twist and I always get a nice full bag of air 👍 You'll get the hang of it!
