Crazy how excellent well produced tutorials like these from TJ only has a fraction of views that overly complex confusing tutorials get. He's made opentoonz much more popular in general use.

I really like the series this guy is trying to teach with opentoonz but ver 1.4 does not have file/new level. The same is true on a few others explaining some of the tools and not bothering to explain that ver 1.4 defaults to raster and to get those tools to work you need it to be in vector. To get into vector you need to go to file/preference/drawing and you''ll see an option for vector. I say this hoping to save someone hours on trying to find the answer or giving up on the program all together.

Create a new layer, known as levels or columns in opentoonz
@amaurydecocqueau45144 жыл бұрын
I have made some artwork of a character and exported every part of the body in .PNGs. Now when importing it in Opentoonz, it's all nicely on separate levels and columns, but on every level it says 'Single Frame' and I cannot add another drawing/variation in that level. It just doesn't allow me to do that... How can this be solved? Thank you!

I still don't understand the point of adding a new "Level". In the above example, why not just add a new drawing of "person" within the existing Level B? Is this just like making a folder structure for organization? Or is there some other reason I missed?

Hi so I've come across an issue. I have a column of line work animation that does not appear once full animation is rendered. It plays normally in opentoonz when in practice animation. But nothing when rendered. The only thing I've noticed is that all my columns are either blue or green and this one column that I'm having issues with. Is grey. I don't know why or if that is significant. Can you help?

I'm trying to learn OpenToonz version 1.4. I try now video lesson Levels and Columns. In this video, time 03.12, you are doing things that I cannot do in version 1.4. You bring all drawings in one frame. Your Level window Always shows Level B when your computer starts up, but on my computer the level increases with every excercize. I am now at level U. My drawings in the Level window are numbered 000A to 000E. When you double click in frame 1 you enter the number 2 you will see the Three. But I can't do that in versie 1.4. So my question is, how do I do that in my version 1.4?
@southernguy354 жыл бұрын
this view is in vector. I know this because he clicked on a drawing and I saw the points. So, if you want to recreate this, you need to be in vector view. Man, I hate to write again. In the tutorial, magically there's three scenes appearing. This is not explained. One way to get to where he's at is click the X-ed out column which gives you the opportunity to make a new frame. When you make the new frame, you can drag that square where it's at to the second column and that's one way to get where he's at.
