Wait... what? I think I learned something very useful here. Now I need to go back and watch this again to see exactly what that thing I learned was. :) Thanks much. Subscribed!

hahaha yeah. 9 out of 10 youtube videos I watch with the speed set to 2x and wish I could speed them up more than 2x. watching slow tutorial/tip videos where someone takes 7 minutes going through the basics before they get to the goodies is like pulling teeth for me sooooooooo I suppose I overdo speeding through my own videos. But I figure someone could set my videos to .75x if they want to slow things down........... Some words came out incoherently sloppy.

@@joshuashute7341 That's cool Josh. I'm with you there. When someone goes through a tutorial going "errrrrrrr, you know, errrrrmm uhhhhh what you do next is-is-is-is ummmmmmmmmm" (7 minutes later) "is you drag and drop this thing right here" (me at my computer screen "What is this thing? What is here?")

Thank you! I was messing around with the Schematics and couldn't figure out how to just... just PEG them! Just PEG dammit! (I'm use to Toonboom) This is very useful! :D

I used Edit Tool for this purpose, but your idea is more interesting. Great animation !

Hi Josh, you should create more short tutorials. Perhaps from the basics on wards?

All of these opentoonz tutorials were made in response to questions here on youtube or on the opentoonz google group forum. If there is something specific you'd like me to go over or have a question about, just let me know I'm open to the idea. "Basics" could be a lot of different things most of which have been cover on youtube (animation basics, rigging basics, opentoonz basics)

You are very right, from my perspective, it would be the absolute basics. I really have no idea where to start with Opentoonz. I do know a little about animation and have used flash! I hope this helps clarify?

I'm watching this video and I don't quite get what to do with the "peg" column in the end - is it simply deleted, or copied and pasted in the animation column and then merged to the blank column?

In most scenarios the peg column is used for animation to affect whatever columns are parented to that column and aren't deleted since they are part of your character rig or animated scene. In most of my rig setups, there are at least 4 of these used to rig a body and a few more for facial rigs. At some point I'll do a video showing these in practical use (this video was a response to post on the opentoonz Google group on how to "freeze transforms" aka baking the animation).SOOOOOO in the example in this video, the animation was "baked" into the level, which meant the peg column was no longer needed and was simply deleted in order to clean up the xsheet but again there are only a handful of situations where baking the animation is more beneficial than simply using the peg column "as is".

Ok, thanks~ going to try this out and see how it works! 👍
