This makes me cry every time I watch how much pain he's in. To be able to do this just a few days after losing his father is a testament to his abilities.

This breaks my heart every time I listen to it. 😢 So very much emotion…I’m not sure how he gets through it, except, because it’s Dan. I’m sure his Dad is extremely proud!❤

This music video is from October 2017, and back then, Dan decided to advance his career as a KZbin singer. Two months later, he started uploading videos weekly. I'm always amazed at how, even back then, he was able to use his wonderful voice, that i can never get enough of, to sing such beautiful songs. He was singing every note with care and intention.

I'm happy how he even was able to sing it at all. Five days after his dad passed, a favorite song of his dad's, I doubt if I could sing, I'd be able to do it. He was looking up to Heaven, singing to his dad, not to us. Breaks my heart ever single time I watch it.

Thanks for your heartfelt reaction to Dan's performance. Every time is watch him sing this song, the tears flow for me, too. What strength it must have taken to do this only 5 days after his Dad's passing. The raw emotion in his voice is palpable. I would love for you to react to his cover of Time to Say Goodbye. It is a duet with a female artist, and it is so lovely. And watch the outro as he talks about how special this song is to him because of his Father. I look forward to the next one.

I'm not a trained singer, but I can't get over Dan's ability to get through this piece so perfectly. If you've ever tried to sing while crying, you know how difficult it is. It's like your vocal chords are fighting themselves and are so tight that it's very difficult to get an intelligible sound out that doesn't sound like it's coming from an injured animal. He never ceases to impress.

Your reaction to this incredible tribute to Dan’s beloved father, is (in Dan’s words) EPIC. Pain and suffering is a part of being human but languishing in it doesn’t allow one to learn from it and move on so you can experience love again. As hard as it was for Dan to lose his dad, look what he has accomplished in his life since then due having the love and support of his dad and family! It’s given him a rock solid base of support to springboard from to an incredible level of success in his music business. I’m going to share this because I believe that your deep understanding of the human condition and commentary will help people move past suffering and get on with the most beautiful part of living a life…and that is…loving again. Thank you! 🙏 ❤

One thing to remember here is that Dan did something he only ocasionally does...he copied the original artist. From a nearly identical backing track, to his placement of runs and vibrato to his key and pitch, this was as close to Elvis as Dan could get. That is understandabe, because it was Roberto's favorite song, so the tribute had to be as perfect as he could make it. To see what I mean, please look at Elvis' American Trilogy from Aloha from Hawaii.

Dan's tributes to his Dad, and to a lesser degree in honor of Andre' Matos (Carry On), both get to me. You can see the pain in his face in both videos & how hard he works to power through those tribute songs to finish well honoring both men who had a great impact on him. His "Heart of Steel" cover was also quite emotional for him because of his personal battle with depression that he overcame. In another reaction, when I first heard you speak about allowing yourself to embrace the emotions w/o allowing them to overtake you, those videos (especially this one) immediately came to mind for me. I have the utmost respect for Dan's ability to create such powerful, beautiful tributes under such emotional stress while not looking completely stoic. You know he's hurting inside, but he harnesses the strength he needs to deliver the homage he intends. I know he wishes that his Dad had lived to see him be successful, but I think his Dad would be so proud of his accomplishments and maybe is smiling in his Heavenly home. Loved your heartfelt reaction & appreciate your continued support for Dan's music. Your analysis of his vocals takes these covers to the next level of what makes Dan so special. His amazing vocal and theatrical abilities, combined with his personality, humor, integrity, & and character, make him even more admirable. ❤️

Beautiful analysis to this incredibly heartfelt song! That 1st repeat once snagged me, too, until it dawned on me how fitting it was for sharing with us the denial aspect. After the reality of loss takes over, he captures so strongly the knowing of real life continuing onward, pain-free. His Daddy prepared him well. During his latest gaming show, he played an old DOS game that he use to play with his Dad, called Captain Bible. Then, during his BS show he shared with us the channel called "The Father's We Needed". Even in his pain, he reaches out to help others find solid footing. I love that boy, that man! Thank you for your wonderful analysis! (Elvis covers can be a difficult feat).

i so love your reactions. learning so much from them. i am constantly amazed how dan can stand alone in a blackened room and emote such emotion, with such a dearth of stimulation. i can see that you, however, understand. you're speaking of twitches reminded me that there was an (it almost looked purposeful) eye twitch in dan's cover of "i'll make a man out of you" that you missed. i only notice that you missed it because only one reactor has mentioned it that i know of. it is right after he pulls the camera in like he is grabbing you by the shirt. you might want to check it out. thanks for another in depth analysis.

I greatly appreciate your contemplative and appreciative facial expressions and your exclanations throughout. My heart breaks as I watch Dan blinking back his tears and his posture as he steels himself to maintain his composure, as he looks upwards towards the Heavens, clearly singung to/ for his recently departed father. Missing from this cover, is the joy that usually radiates from his eyes and countenance,in his other videos, when he is doing what he loves and was born to do, sing. There is no joy here, there is a lot of pain and anguish, It was Dan's final farewell to his father, with his Dad's favorite Elvis song. A very beautiful , heartfelt, heart- wrenching tribute to Señor Roberto. This Epic Dude has a mystical way of reducing me to tears

Dan and you seem to share a same life principle that action matters, not the emotion. No wonder Dan was not carried away by his grief, but embraced the whole process and executed his performance completely by being who he was, a son who suffered from the loss of his father. I truly appreciate you for sharing the quote from Dr. Victor Frankl. This video is the embodiment of man’s courage that choose to suffer… for the sake of love. Thank you 🙏

Not trying to start a fight, but your comment was very strange. This is a reaction and ANALYSIS channel. He is very good about letting the song play initially and then doing an analysis afterwards. If you are not interested in an analysis of the song and musical techniques, I do not understand why you would come to this channel. I will frequently wait to watch this channel until I actually have the time to sit and enjoy it as most fun about 20-30 minutes. When I only have a little bit of time, I can watch another reaction channel, which only takes 5 to 10 minutes.
