Sally, I'm litteraly saying hi from the other side of the globe (Sweden)! Your comment touched me since I've been on a struggle with my own health for 20 years now (but I'm still here and doing ok 🙂). The reason for my comment is that I've never in my life used music the way that I do today. And the reason it all changed was a random KZbin video I came across and clicked on in 2018 (it said in the thumbnail : "the best voice in the world?"). This artist opened my floodgates that I didn't even no needed to be opened. And he's been a part of my healing process ever since. To me a VERY weird thing to happen, but in the best of ways... 😅 His name is Dimash Kudaibergen. And the link was "Dimash SOS, The Singer 2017". It might not be your "thing" at all. But I just felt to throw it out there because I know its a common thing amongst his fanbase that a whole lot of us oddly enough experience that he is an important piece in our (emotional?) healing process. You need to give credit to Jona Tee who played all instruments, mixed and produced this song and also co arranged it together with Eric. Without him we wouldn’t have had this version. Jona is best pal and former band mate from the band HEAT to Eric. Of Course Eric is fantastic but these two together are magic.

You should listen to Erik Grönwall sing Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You, it's the best cover I heard since Whitney Huston did her cover in the movie Bodyguard. You should even look/listen to him sing Mariah Carey's Without You, John Farnham's You're the voice, Eric Carmen's (Celine Dion) All by myself and Pentatonix Mary Did You Know, they are also truly amazing! In 2009, Erik won Swedish Idol and performed the specially written song Higher in the final. On March 23, 2022, it was announced by Eddie Trunk that Grönwall is replacing ZP Theart as the lead singer of Skid Row. In March 2024, Erik announced that he was leaving Skid Row for health reasons after being diagnosed with leukemia. His first single, "Higher", reached gold on digital downloads after only three days. His debut album, self-titled Erik Grönwall, was released just ten days after the finals and debuted at number one on the Swedish albums chart and was certified platinum. Both as a solo artist and band member, Grönwall has numerous top 40 hits.

I really enjoy your reaction and your analysis. I learn a lot! Erik has a great ability to convey the emotions of a song. He was in a special TV production of Jesus Christ Superstar (John Legend as Jesus and Alice Cooper as King Herod).
