I love your reaction she makes you want to shout. I love Jennifer Hudson because she tells a story with her voice and not alot of singers do that. She completely draws you in its incredible she truly a gift from God.
@henryhenderson47523 жыл бұрын
JHud gives me the sense that her sound comes from her whole body, that even her fingers and toes are buzzing at her will to color and lift her sound, as I feel too with Jessye Norman. Leanne Rimes sings this song live a lot, and I reckon she also has this kind of virtuosity that “Hallelujah” draws wonderful (stylistically different) singers to. Beautiful performance and an enjoyable, thoughtful reaction.

Very well said Henry. I agree, she sings with her entire body!

Love J Hud so much. Her confidence level has increased so much, I cannot wait for the bio pic she does on Aretha. Having Aretha hand pick J Hud to do it, and then working together on it has a lot to do with J Hud's confidence level. I got something a little different from J Hud for the opera lovers. This is from The Voice UK where she sang with her contestant pair of classically trained singers and it's an operatic remake of My Heart Will Go On. Yep, you heard that right, this is all too short, only about 2 minutes, but J Hud slays kzbin.info/www/bejne/hau0k6usachqn5Y

Jennifer Hudson is an amazing voice. So many people have covered this song, and I’m sure hers ranks as one of the best. But once I heard kd lang sing it for Leonard Cohen at his induction to CSHF and then again at his memorial tribute concert, I don’t listen to other versions anymore. I’m not usually precious, but this is a special case. I’ll be back for your next Jennifer Hudson reaction. Cheers.

I study ProTools recording for several years and she reminds me of having a powerful voice pushing the levels and then Compressing it to get that full Powerful Controlled Vocals. And her voice is naturally like that from what I see. Her voice is so powerful but she has full control of it and her range is just unbelievable😊

Yes! This is such a poignant and nuanced song and I absolutely love JHud's take on it. It was such an intimate and...conversational performance. And, double yes about the breathing! I love how she makes breathing a Part of whatever song she sings rather than just a necessary by-product of singing. 💜 Thanks for another wonderfully informative reaction!

Thank you again for a wonderful reaction to this beautiful Leonard Cohen song, as presented by the marvelous Jennifer Hudson. No musical reactor I have found here on KZbin does as good a job as you do of explaining what the vocalist is doing, as well as giving the performer the appreciation they are due! Keep up the great work of helping us to become better at listening to music! I am certain you have more requests on your plate than you will be able to get to in the next 18 months, but I would like to add one for you to put way down on the bottom of your list, and get to it whenever you can: The same song Hallelujah by kd lang. You will find her perform it at the Opening Ceremony to the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver. I would love to hear you break that one down! Respect to you!!

This is an old video so I doubt this will get answered. But you are talking in the video at 6:15 that she is asking the audience a question. Well the time when she asked the question how are you to know what the whole question is if she butchers the American English language? She cut off a word halfway and connected it to the next word yet you are reacting like everything she is doing is amazing. I honestly don't understand I was under the impression that as a musician all words should be very concise ?
