This is one of the reasons I love Pentatonix so much. Obviously, they simply do not care what people think of their silliness, which I absolutely adore! They are genuinely themselves when they choose to present their “take” on this song. Kirsten, who grew up in musical theatre, specializes in this kind of production so I was very happy to see her get this lead. ❤

Scott has admitted they were quite drunk making this video lol. The three of them have been friends since they were kids so they goof around a lot. If you want to see more of them singing and goofing off, I'd recommend their Defying Gravity video and their La La Land medley. If you want a song that will blow your mind, I'd recommend their cover of Rise. If you want something that's not singing but will make you laugh your head off, watch their Stranger Things parody. Also, always watch to the very end. Their bloopers are hilarious!

They were already Pentatonix by this point, but only a couple of years into it. This is one of the funniest AND most entertaining videos on KZbin! I love how seriously Mitch is taking it until he just can't anymore! Kirstie really is a living Disney princess...but then again, so is Mitch! This is what happens when three life-long close friends (and proud choir nerds) get together in a recording studio with a videographer AND a LOT of alcohol...all three have admitted that they got quite toasted that night! Apparently the first six minutes of the video was the only complete take they got thru (and while they were still relatively sober), and the bloopers contain the highlights of what happened later (and after a bit more consumption). They also do a medley with Kirstie from the movie La-La Land. It doesn't quite break down into the silliness of this one, but it's also pretty entertaining...and has an unforgettable highlight that some Pentaholics refer to as the "ultimate Scomiche moment"!

You have to do Superfruit - Defying Gravity, Rise, GUY.exe and Future Friends. Pentatonix - Daft Punk, Dance of the Sugar plum Fairy, Sing, Show you how to Love, Edge of glory, Imagine and Somebody that I used to know. Also you should check out their cover of Gold, watch the original Kiiara version first, and do Aha! studio version and then live in Singapore, they will give you a whole new appreciation for their talent. You should check out some of their Sing Off journey as well, this is where they formed Pentatonix but Mitch, Scott and Kirstin are childhood friends and had the Trio before Pentatonix.

All of the members of PTX have said time and time again that they're nothing more than huge theater nerds with a platform. Seeing yourself in some of the things they do for fun, the stuff that's been put into their videos, isn't all that surprising, really. Just like most everyone else I love how much fun they have when it's time for it. And, how much work they put into everything when it's time to get serious. No matter what they're doing, though, their absolute joy for music comes through. And, I'm sure, it helps that they can all have fun with one another, too.

When PTX recorded "Let It Go" for one their annual Christmas albums, Mitch and Kirstie swapped back and forth on lead, each doing a full verse/chorus pair before handing off to the other. It's fucking amazing, and folks I know who've heard it (but don't know each member of PTX well enough to ID them by very small differences in timbre) think there's only one person on lead throughout, and that said one person hasn't had their vocal tract influenced by testosterone in any way. Mitch is just that good at pulling off Full Broadway while soaring in high octaves, and Kirstie is just that good at Broadway style generally AND at matching Mitch's voice as well as any two different people can.

No, this is *not* before Pentatonix; Superfruit was formed by Scott and Mitch as a channel where they could get away from the serious work of Pentatonix and just goof off. The thing you must always remember about "the trio" (Scott, Kirstie, and Mitch) is that they've been friends since they were children. I believe their time in Pentatonix has further cemented that friendship, even as they've gone on to have personal lives outside of their membership in PTX. So on this particular evening, three old friends got together to relax, goof off, have some fun together. The evening began with a few glasses of wine, which somehow turned into several glasses of wine - in other words, they were drunk as skunks when they decided that it would be fun to film themselves as Anna, Elsa, and Hans from _Frozen._ Given who they are it was probably inevitable, with or without alcohol, but I'm *guessing* the alcohol was a major factor in the decision to use Kirstie's hair as a prop. If you absolutely must judge, judge this as a comedy, because it's incredibly funny. Don't judge it as Pentatonix - Pentatonix would never do this - judge it as Superfruit, and enjoy it. That's what it's there for.

Superfruit video are always so fun! I’m glad you are enjoying them and that you realized that they usually have bloopers at the end. So funny! If you want to watch a really funny and funky song they do, watch their original Guy.exe. Mitch plays a mad scientist. You will love it! A more serious one is The Promise.
