Ufff, as soon as I started listening, I felt transported to the forest of Lothlorien... it is the sound that I would relate to elves or mythological beings. From what I understand, Lyyra is an ensemble formed by the Voces8 Foundation but with 6 entirely new people and meant “to build support and visibility for upper voices and their potential” (quote taken from Lyyra’s website, which does also list each of the members of the sextet)

Your comments about ring lights in reflections on glasses is so on point. I recently attended a performance on Mozart’s requiem where the light spill from the choir’s pad tablets against the stage backdrop was actually annoying, at least to me. The production crew must take this new phenomenon into account. Love your analysis, thanx so much

I just recently discovered Voces8... sadly, just two weeks AFTER they had performed near my home. So glad you reacted tothem. I listen to a lot of acapella music, mostly Home Free, Voiceplay and Pentatonix. However, I do explore wide ranges of acapella performances.

To add a little more information to what Richard said. Lyyra is a US based part of the Voces8 Foundation. Besides Voces8 and Lyyra, the foundation also has a permanent quintet, Apollo5, and a larger chorus and orchestra as needed. The foundation's mission is to champion singing by everyone. When they tour, they will often work with local school ensembles and community groups. I have seen Voces8 several times in concert, and they are phenomenal. The arranger, Blake Morgan, is the tall bearded gentleman in Voces8. The soloist is Anna Crumley. It is a true phenomenon that you will "hear" the person or instrument the camera focuses on.

About the vibrato in contemporary music: I learned that one of the reasons for starting with straight tone is that it saves air. So it's easier to hold long notes.

Just wanted to suggest to you a talented young singer from GB. Lucy Thomas is someone you should listen to. 19 or 20 and already has 5 CD's out. I think she has a phenomenonal voice and a future like no other. Hope you find time. So far I've liked your channel, but this is only my 2nd video to watch. I'll be watching others😊😊

Reaction request: Nicole Scherzinger singing Phantom Of The Opera. On the Video “Nicole Scherzinger - Phantom Of The Opera Royal Variety Performance December 14” she’s sings with several of the original Phantoms. She’s known as being in the pop group Pussy Cat Dolls, but my mind was blown and she does really well on this considering she’s not an opera singer. 🤯

I know what you mean about sound awareness, I was just thinking about that today listening to Pentatonix' Run to You! I was wondering if the engineer was continually and highlighting one particular voice throughout the song or if they were modulating volume, or what?! It is such a fantastic effect and it only is increased by watching the video.

I'm so disappointed that you haven't gotten around to a second Angelina Jordan reaction. Your Dec 2022 reaction to her "I Put a Spell on You" music video was one of the best I've seen. I hope you didn't have a bad copyright/block experience when you tried to react to her again (e.g., to her "Bohemian Rhapsody" on AGT, which was, at the time, her second most popular reaction request - and might still be). But it looks like you're still reacting to a lot of the same kinds of videos as you did before you got a strike, so that's probably not the explanation… In any case, Angelina's vast catalog of reaction-worthy performances runs the gamut from the most professionally produced studio tracks and TV/radio appearances down to the most "humble" cell phone recordings (several of which have been acpaella, actually - to make this somewhat relevant to this video I'm commenting under ;). And I'd wager you got examples of almost every type in response to your IPASOY reaction. My own recommendation was any of her various renditions of "Unchained Melody" - the number of which has almost doubled in the intervening 18 months - since it ends with the somewhat operatic "big finish" popularized by the Righteous Brothers' Bobby Hatfield. Her most recent performance of the song was at the live Nobel Peace Prize tribute for last year's winner, Narges Mohammadi. I think it's sufficiently easy to find with a search, so I won't bother including a link. Many other highly recommended performances can be found in the first two collections of playlists on the "home" tab of my channel.
