The thriller, shot on video, takes the Pope’s visit to Malta with a sharp new twist. What if the Pope were assassinated on his trip to Malta? The storyline revolves around two Middle Eastern agents (Manuel Cauchi, Michael Tabone) who land in Malta, one to kill the Pope, the other to try and stop him. Both suffered the same family casualties in their war torn country and both are trying to do something about it. One of them is seeking revenge, the other, a way to end the bloodshed. Their opposite political views clash in Malta as each of them execute their plans, not knowing that both of them are mere pawns in a greater game as Fritz (Etienne St. John) the third interested party is a mercenary hired to see that the assassination succeeds.
Directed by Tony Parnis and produced by Paul Preca Trapani the film stars Manuel Cauchi, Etienne St. John, Michael Tabone, Kevin Drake, Patrick Vella, Joyce Cassar, Martin Sapiano, George Portelli, Lina Galea Cumbo and the late Carmelo Briffa who played the Pope.
