Fantastic Observation (album) stayed up till 2:30a.m listening to both versions! And obviously Swedish first 😙👌🏻 in a strange way the album made my life feel complete and I’d have been happy to just drift way in my sleep, with these songs in my subconscious 😌 though I’d miss hearing them again and again... just gotta get 9hrs of work out the way 😆

Beautiful cover! Some questions: Who are the girls, one under the tree and the other inside the cart? There is a statue near the girl under the tree that is not there anymore at the inside sleeve. Why is the coachman a lizard?

Now that I've seen this video and I know Mikael's reasoning behind the artwork, it's a bit disappointing to me because I thought the five people were random mysterious shadowy figures meant to give the artwork a dark, shady kind of vibe. I love the artwork of Blackwater Park, Still Life and Ghost Reveries - they really set the mood for the album as a whole. BWP has a foggy "bleak" forest with just the faintest silhouettes of ghostly figures amid leafless trees, and just has a really depressing and moody look overall. Ghost Reveries' candles are really nice too - they remind me of places of worship (in this case, Satanic worship) and seem vaguely sinister, especially with the black figure in the background who is probably Satan. Sorceress' peacock and skulls are cool too, showing how beauty can come from death and darkness, and symbolizing the evolution of their sound. This is just a fucking house. But hey, the music's pretty sweet. Even if it's nothing like their older work.

@Lopyt *Sir_Guy* ​ Nice, dude! Same. I just composed my first song a few weeks back and it's heavily "inspired" by Opeth (read: borderline unconsciously plagiarized). Cool Blackwater Park puns, man. Maybe you're right about GR's cover being a mirror, but it's unlikely it's a bathroom mirror - that would seem a little anticlimactic considering the dark, occult nature of the album. I think Still Life's cover does an OK job, but if you don't think it fits then that's fine. And of course, I don't much care for Heritage or Pale Communion as albums in general.
