Damn, didn't think we'd ever get more death growls out of Mikael except when they play the old stuff live. This is a good blend of old and new, I like it!

We all knew that Jethro Tull has always been a huge influence, not only to Mikael, but on Opeth's sound itself, and having Ian Anderson on this song is insane! Definition of a masterpiece.

People are chuckling about the flute solo but the transition into this conspiratorial, sordid sound as the father reveals the truth of his children's heritage, followed by the heavy part as he bitterly recounts it, was harrowing to listen to the first time.

I love how Opeth is never reluctant to put out music that soldem fits any one genre. Peak Artistry. And absolute masterful performance by Walteri.
