Randi was the truth and a real life badass. He led a tremendously fascinating life and even embarrassed the scientific community by hoaxing his own fake psychic and fooling a lot of credible people to make a point when ESP and the like was a popular thing. His point was to illustrate that even the best scientists can be fooled by magic tricks. The man never graduated high school but he was a genuine genius.

What we know as "cold reading", they take as psychic abilities and absolute truth. It matters not how many times these fraudsters are called out, there will always be a contingent of poor fool who is desperate to talk to a dead child or parent and beg to he told that communication was made. It may provide some form of closure, but is that really the case when they are being lied to?
