I genuinely didn't think this track could be performed live. The tempo changes are insane, and they didn't even perform the studio version, they performed the edited one that stays in sync with the movie. Fucking hell.

Well they did say that all the musicians there worked on the original recording sessions, so they all probably knew how to perform the tempo changes because they had to do it before.

Funnily enough, neither did Ludwig Göransson. He actually wasn't going to even try to do it live and was going to do it bar-by-bar for the movie's score (which is what sensible people would do), but his wife kept insisting that he try it. Through much experimentation, they managed to record it by having a click play into each musician's ear at the time of the tempo changes. That song alone took three days to record

Which is a really rare feat. Few directors are given full creative control in today's times when it comes to big studio projects. Most projects are notoriously affected when executives meddle and exert control. Denis VIlleneuve and Christopher Nolan are arguably the only 2 directors that can do whatever they want. @@hhshs3466
