1:49 - 'Can't Fight It' is how I discovered BOB MOULD in my pre-teen days. Then later post HS I discovered HÜSKER DÜ and realized that he was a part of that band. Love "Metal Circus", "Everything Falls Apart" and "Zen Arcade"!!!

I know it's been 20 years since this interview, but fuck me, he looks so fucking different here.

Thanks for posting this! I was way too young to have seen it when it originally aired. Bob Mould is the best and Matt Pinfield is an incredible interviewer.

Pinfield was capable of a good interview. He was such a fan, and it made-up for any awkwardness

I watched this when it aired and bought the self titled album the next day. I was already a Husker Du fan but that album sealed it for me.

My adolescence was carved by Hüsker Dü and I love a lot of stuff Mr.Hart and Mr. Mould have done since. Here I get the impression that Bob Mould is a bit passive-aggressive, like whining. A stance he can put to high artistic value for sure. Everything I have seen and heard about Grant Hart (RIP) yet strikes me as love.

It's really funny, because that modern, alternative sound he talks about being obscure in the post punk era, now has gone back into obscurity again. haha

Random thoughts: Does he really consider "Whichever Way the Wind Blows" to be more delicate? That song is primal. Mould's speaking voice isn't even remotely like his singing voice. A beard can make all the difference between looking like an accountant and looking like a singer-songwriter. But then, I think, looking like an accountant could be cool if you're spewing barely controlled rage at 120 decibels.

Is this a remake of Chris Farley interviewing Paul McCartney?
