I do quilt my own on my domestic machine. I usually don’t show that part for 2 reasons. One, because quilting is so personal & different for everyone. The 2nd is that I don’t always get around to the quilting step right away. It’s usually months later.

That's pretty far down the road. It's in a long line of quilts that need to be quilted, but I'll probably follow the paths and quilt some loop d' loops or string hearts. I never really know until it's basted and the needle is threaded.

Great pattern! I have several yards of waxed African cotton given to me in thanks by a Ghanaian co-worker and have been unsure how to use it, so I was interested to hear how you handled it.

I washed it in warm water with color catchers & dried normally. It seemed to work fine.

I’m a lefty too. In third grade we started learning cursive and teachers tried to force me to go right handed. I was so upset my parents met with teachers and insisted they stop pushing me. The school left me to my left handed-ness after that.

I’m also a lefty. I learned to remember left by finding the callous on my left middle finger. I gripped my pencil so tightly a callous developed. This allowed me to easily find left and no one saw me doing it.
