ngl opponent kinda holdin up a little personal theory about the kind of players that gravitate towards eldrazi decks as their main squeeze .....
@jaredschroeder75553 ай бұрын
@aj7419 tbh, if I was to do legacy I'd probably play eldrazi, not because cheating mana, but because they are just cool af. I quite enjoy their art style and aesthetic, with Kozilek the Great Distortion being my go to commander. Don't get me wrong, there are toxic eldrazi players out there, but the archetype is just soo cool too, with its unique flavors and ideas mechanics wise, distinct art, and devotion to mud style decks.

@jaredschroeder75553 ай бұрын
@lugvantrug5967 yaknow, good point honestly. I'd've not thought of that, and tbh it could simply be because they thought 1 permanent wasn't punishing enough, but that cost also being used to make solitude less clean of an answer feels like the kinda foresight I could see WotC having

There's a weird phenomenon where people who play non-interactive combo decks like Belcher or Through The Breach just assume that they're entitled to combo every game (unless they're well-rounded people who try out more decks somewhat regularly), and they just salt off if they're met with any disruption

Worst I've ever dealt with was a guy who brought a sol-ring build of mono-blue legacy painter (pretty sure it used tinker as well) to a casual, no money entry fee, proxies-allowed, FNM tournament... And then proceeded to slaughter everyone while WATCHING KZbin ON HIS LAPTOP until he ran into me and got SO FREAKING MAD that I was playing a completely jank mono-black "turn your lands into swamps so my common/uncommon swapwalking creatures are unblockable" deck. I turned the only island he played game one into a swap and bricked his opening hand. I proceeded to slowly kill him that game before he mercilessly murdered me the next round. But he was rather salty I had *dared* to distract him from his videos and gold-fishing against casual players playing their kitchen table decks. I still can't believe he thought it was ok to bring a deck so broken it would be banned in legacy/vintage to a CASUAL tournament, and then not even PAY ATTENTION. ... It would have been fine if he spent the whole night showing off to new players how utterly broken mtg can be and trying to help them understand what was happening. But NOoooOOoo! He had to be so rude and unwelcoming he scared off most of the players and the casual tournament died (only ever had enough players 1-2 more times max).

Arena of Glory 2nd ability is definitely a mana ability. To qualify as a mana ability, the ability must meet these criteria: 1) produces mana 2) does not require a target 3) is not a loyalty ability Both abilities on Arena of Glory meet all 3 requirements, so they are both mana abilities

FYI, Arena is in fact a mana ability: 605.1a An activated ability is a mana ability if it meets all of the following criteria: it doesn’t require a target (see rule 115.6), it could add mana to a player’s mana pool when it resolves, and it’s not a loyalty ability. (See rule 606, “Loyalty Abilities.”)

Oh 1 hand i'm kind of GLAD this deck didn't 5-0. i personally think Land D SHOULDN'T be super amazing for the health of the format. On the other hand it was funny to hear about the eldrazi players rage. I've been blow out by this style of deck before at a local event a while back i was on amulet and its NOT a great deck but it sure liens up well vs amulet, eldrazi, and tron if you get those matches. As for my suggestions *I think suppression + ghostly is to weak of a lock in a meta with 1mana universal answers like static prison, just food for though *The lack of answers to the 1 ring was a huge issue * I wouldn't hate 1 copy of Krenko's Buzzcrusher in the main to go with charmaw *I think a bonecrusher giant int he main isn't a horrid idea *you could run a copy of rip apart in the main removal for creature but also could be a naturalize/disenchant *For board clear brootherhoods end in the main and wrath of god in the sb

The round 2 was great how does this deck beat any other deck? Actually it’s pretty fair it’s just a fell bad when its absolutely wrecks you when playing tron or eldrazi. I played it twice went 3-2 and 4-1 I played eldrazi 3 out of my 7 wins, energy twice and a merfolk a Dimir control were the rest. Lost to maurdu energy, RG breach, and Dimir. RG breach is my new favorite though it’s great against energy and Dimir I won 7 straight matches with it but then lost 4 in a row and split the last 4 in my first 3 plays 9-6 seems decent I can win quick and looses quick though
