Pneumonia shots, as well as other immunizations, sadly do not work for me, therefore I am very much at risk for severe infections. Oprah is right. Pneumonia is nothing to play with. I thought I was having a heart attack. I went to two emergency rooms before even finding out I had double pneumonia. I only left with cough meds and antibiotics. I followed up with Urgent Care two days later and that is when the doctor gave me two shots and a machine to do breathing treatments at home. I’m finally feeling better although I still have some pain in my chest from time to time. Your body lets you know when something is wrong.

Actually Whoopi was much much worse, went septic and was very close to death. She was hospitalized for nearly a month and spent 4 mos recuperating at home with rather strict guidelines. When she first came back to the show she only worked 1 day per week for awhile and gradually worked her way up from there.
