That is the most well articulate heart felt acceptance speech I've ever heard. I am inspired. Steadman was so shy lol. But it takes a guy like Steadman, whose self assured, to be with a woman like Oprah. Not many men have the confidence to accept not being in the spot light.
@margh737
@margh737 3 жыл бұрын
Stedman wasn't shy. He was moved by the kind comments Oprah made about him. Seemed more like he was tearing up and didn't want that to spill, so he covered his eyes.

Hardly ever heard about their relationship. In fact, I never even heard about Stedman until 2009. He is clearly a professional lover. She's not like Amanda Bearse or even mean Ellen DeGeneres when it comes to coming out of the closet.

My god is she powerful... I'm in tears. I hate TV, haven't had a television for 20 years but - Oprah, a meteor of hope for the masses, I say ... thank god for TV. She's every symbol of all that racists hate, that is just pure Perfection. And now she is a billionaire that uses money to help Africa, common Americans, Nature, education, the animal kingdom, women, overweight people... Thank you Oprah Winfrey.

I absolutely agree. There are people who appear in our lives certain of God's plan to be used for the greatest good and for the sake of humanity. If you look with your heart and not just your eyes you can see an aura that eminates from their soul. God expects greatness from all of His children, and I believe that He designates a chosen few to lead the rest of His children to realize the best in themselves. I will always have a place in my heart for Oprah Winfrey, because she understands that what we ALL are given is not simply a living, breathing life, but more importantly an opportunity to be used by the Highest God to serve one another and make the living existence all that it can and should be according to God's will.

I love how she ends her speech with a reference to the lyrics for “Run On”- the theme song that debuted the following season (September ‘98). She also hints at the new (but short-lived) format her show would take that season, when she introduced “Change Your Life TV” (short-lived, and heavily panned for its overt, heavy handed approach to empowerment, self-help, and spirituality).

Wow good for her. To take every opportunity and use it to get where she is right now is what we all should do. Her relationship with her partner is magical to me. So beautiful to see someone in this world have success and happiness in every area of their life. I was born a caregiver and looked after other people’s needs all my life, this was my path so when I see what someone born in a similar background reach the moon, I get twinges of jealousy for seconds only and in a good way.. Congratulations in life achievements.
