@@aura1521 Probably. But even with the current engineering, Hasbro has their limits whereas 3rd party companies are giving Hasbro a run for their money especially with their own versions of Western Star truck Optimus Prime (AOE/TLK) and Lockdown. Both of which can transform into robot mode that looks very close to the robot cgi and without any vehicle parts visible. Amazing really.

Of all of the reviews as of recently, I've been looking forward to this one the most. I personally believe Blackout is one of the very best Transformers figures we've gotten primarily due to it's accuracy in vehicle and robot mode. While the transformation may not be the most fun and can be frustrating sometimes, I do have to give a hand clap to it because it in itself is pretty accurate to the movie's transformation, especially when he appears outside the alleyway in the last battle of the movie.
@TRManiac1016 жыл бұрын
For me I love it when transformation is difficult. It makes it that much more realistic or at least accurate to the movie. Also when both modes look that amazing it’s worth every second I take to transform it

@Optibotimus, I have to say how much I appreciate it that you transform your figures BOTH ways. While I didn’t need it this time having transformed it on my own a bunch and getting used to it already, in the past this feature has saved me a bunch. I agree with Rayne Kraven. So what if the transformation is complicated? Studio series is more for the collectors, fans ever since the first, 2007 movie. As long as robot mode and vehicle mode is screen accurate, then I’m ok with that. Besides, I miss the complicated, challenging, puzzle like transformations.

I just got this figure. It is... amazing. Yeah the transformation is excessively complicated with a lot of little moving parts that you have to wiggle around, but that's no different from a lot of 3rd-party figures. Robot mode is damn near perfect, and if someone comes up with like a riot shield or something that can be placed to cover up the helicopter's bottom, the helicopter mode would be perfect too. Absolutely phenomenal figure. Buy him, love him, he's amazing.

Gotta admit, despite most of the previous Studio Series figures being a real letdown, this may be one I'd actually consider getting. Even with the transformation being a bit frustrating, it still looks likes a more accurate version than what we were given with the first movie. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us, man.
@dankmemer27745 жыл бұрын
gotta say, when this figure was previewed, i was quite certain that i'd be getting him since he is what I wanted since '07. after taking a closer look at his hands, his plank sandals, and his size as a leader figure, i kind of put him a little lower on my priority list. then after a couple of months of seeing him in store and passing him up, i decided that i was going to get him. Just as I was about to commit, wei jiang released their version of SS08 blackout(i believe he is called Hide Shadow) with articulated hands, clearly defined toes and feet, larger size, better paint details, and tons of rachet joints in the place of friction joints on the hasbro version. safe to say, i aint getting the hasbro version anymore, im going wei jiang for this guy, costed me a bit more, but from what i've seen, it's pretty worth.

I’ll admit this is one of the few figures that is worth the price of 50 dollars. It’s incredible how they were able to incorporate the transformation just like the movie and how movie accurate it looks. I have high expectation for movie studio series devastator and the prototype they showed does not disappoint. Just hope it comes out as it was shown and make Scavenger aka red version of Demolishor big. Maybe twice th height of a leader class as shown in the movie since studio series goes for movie accuracy.

If I recall correctly, in the 2007 TF movie Blackout released Scorponok from somewhere on his back, so while I agree, it's not the perfect way to hide, or store accessories, it comes pretty screen accurate.

Man, I think that's a badass transformation. Sure it's finicky, but the complexity and difficulty is what appeals to me. Also that if it were not for the helicopter blades, it'd be really hard to tell what Blackout transforms into, and that ambiguity is also an appeal. I hope one day to be able to get my hands on one of these.

When you transform him from robot to alt mode, remember that part when you straighten his legs? Before doing that, spread his legs and twist the legs to the point where that front skirt should NOT move after tabbing the feet panels into the tail. Also, give him chicken legged styled legs, hes not gonna stand like that with that top heavy body of his in the movie.

Picked up this guy yesterday. Cool figure, but the helicopter mode just doesn't tab into place well at all for me. Despite being tiny for a Leader class figure in robot mode, he fits pretty well with the other Movie Decepticons I have: Studio Series Starscream, DotM Shockwave, & DotM Megatron (who like Classics Optimus, is pretty midgety for a Voyager)...AoE Lockdown excluded, of course. I've noticed that the best way to get his chicken leg look is to ratchet the hips outward two clicks. It'll give him a super wide stance, but, his thighs can clear that silly hip skirt flap that way.

I own this figure now, and I have been completely floored by everything I’ve seen on the internet about it, and only now do I understand why this figure is absolutely.... ridiculous. It is GORGEOUSLY sculpted, it LOOKS like Blackout, his Pave Low chopper form LOOKS like a real MH-53....But getting from one form to another isn’t nice. Panels fall off every time I attempt to transform it, the radar stick on the front of the helicopter has bent and a nice ugly white stress mark is present now, just from trying to get the damned thing converted. It is a pain, and it almost ruins it. That said, it is one of the most beautiful pieces in my collection. It is a PAIN in the arse to convert, but I would highly recommend just getting him. We won’t get a nicer blackout than this, not for this price point at least. A masterpiece would be the only thing better I imagine. I give it a solid 9. Just wish it didn’t feel like it was going to break half the time
@imranbecks5 жыл бұрын
Really? I've had no problems transforming this Blackout to and fro. Just have to get it all lined up and all the panels will snap in easily. I also have the bigger, oversized one from Wei Jiang! Exactly the same as this, just bigger and with better hands and feet!
@ZEPEH-46N25 жыл бұрын
Imran Becks I imagine if the figure is bigger it would be slightly easier and less finicky. It could also 100% be me just being an idiot, I never read the instructions so I might be skipping steps around and just not doing it the best way. I’ve since replaced my Blackout figure with another and this one seems to be built of much higher quality
