I started taking this collagen supplement when you first introduced it many months ago. I had questions about it so I called company and the people that answer the phone are extremely educated on their product, very helpful and I was totally impressed! So many collagens out there but this one has the verisol, fortibone, fortigel and others don’t.

🛑 My concern about this Algae Cal Collagen Complete is, it contains Strontium… Copied: “Strontium in collagen is considered not good because it can disrupt the normal structure and function of bone by replacing calcium in the bone mineral, potentially leading to weaker bones, especially when present in excessive amounts; this can affect the collagen matrix within the bone, impacting its strength and flexibility, and potentially increasing the risk of fractures.” 🤔

Well the skin of Chicken has a ton of bioavailable collagen and more. So does nearly every cut of beef especially if you cut a roll into steaks yourself. Slowcook a brisket and that collegen melts in your mouth so good. And on and on. you don't need supplements at all, except in some sense boron seems to have some benefit. but IDK if it is necessary. If you cut out everything except meat for awhile or forever you will have massive health gains not only limited to bones plus lose weight and never live in hunger. And its cheaper to live that way. you can toss all the supplements and all the vegetables and fruits and nuts and grains which are the things that caused this condition in the first place. And that will save a ton of cash too.

Dr. DOUG....very compelling podcast. But concerns me about their failure to state whether they do careful scrutiny of allergens from the manufacturing perspective. Thank you for sharing this concern, Richard! Ensuring product safety, especially regarding allergens, is crucial. While I don’t have access to specific manufacturing practices, I’d suggest reaching out directly to the company’s quality control or customer service team to ask about their allergen protocols and testing standards. They should be able to provide you with details on any measures taken to prevent cross-contamination, giving you clearer insight into whether the product is safe for you!

DD - one more comment- they should clarify this on the label and website. Were the studies done by the manufacturers of the products. If so they could be biased. Also, I ‘ve heard counter arguments for using collagen to create collagen in the body because, of course, the collagen will be broken up into amino acids in the digestive tract and will not necessarily be used built back up into collagen in the body but may be used instead to make proteins for other priorities in the body.

And the body using it fir something different based on priority also doesn't seem to be a bad idea. Let's say it decides to heal a critical wound first before using it to strengthen a bone.

@@BadAssElf810 Yes, morning sun is the best because of the red, infrared and UV rays! The thousands of different wave lengths are critical information for every hormonal/biochemical process in the body. A lot of misconception around diet and exercise, is that without the information from natural sunlight, the body doesn't know what to do with those inputs. Also, fake light-aka leds, lcds, RFs, Microwaves from wi-fi and cellular devices, all interfere with our biochemistry. There is pubmed research that shows artificial light at night (ALAN) causes brittle bones.I'm familiar with Dr. Jack Kruse, he is very good at connecting all the dots and explaining it in a technical fashion!

Simmer for minimum of 12 hours. Strain. Store in glass jar in the fridge. Consume 4-6 cups daily by warming it up and drinking it. It improves hair growth, skin, joints, vision and bone health. I add ACV to my bone broth. What does ACV do in bone broth? Adding apple cider vinegar to bone broth can help to extract more nutrients from the bones. The acidity in the vinegar helps to break down the bones and release minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium. ACV softens them up so much, that they just melt in the mouth and require virtually no chewing.

Sally K Norton says a metabolic product of collagen is oxalic acid, which can form kidney stones. So go easy on it. Dr. William Davis says marine collagen has 10x the specific (di)peptides that support collagen production in the skin, so you can take 1/10 of marine collagen to get the same skin improvement that regular collagen peptides produce. He didn't say if those dipeptides also stimulate bone tissue.

It’s the product that you have presented in your BuildBack guide. As I sit looking at over $300 worth of products from the HeathyBones company..the biggest bundles. And the AlgeaCal company Collagen Complete and Fish oil,D3 complete $$$ And the AlgeaCal Plus. Fortibone has a proven track record of supporting bone health, especially in cases of osteopenia and osteoporosis, while Verisol and Fortigel have other uses . There is absolutely no evidence that collagen helps with osteoporosis ( fortigel, verisol), as the doctor mentioned in previous videos, BUT there is ONLY one collagen ingredient that has been TESTED AND PROVEN to help with osteoporosis and it is called "Fortibone" so look for collagen containing Fortibone. Fortibone is one of the few collagen ingredients that has undergone double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials. It has been shown to significantly increase bone mineral density (BMD) in the lumbar spine and femoral neck at a dose of 5g per day for 12 months. The results suggest that Fortibone® helps rebuild bone and slows bone loss. If you are taking a collagen that does not contain this ingredient, be aware that there is NO scientific evidence that it will help you fight osteoporosis.

Research has the bad habit to look only at one thing at the time, while we need several of them to get the effect. Hydrolyzed Collagen Vitamin D and K2 Magnesium Boron In my view, we don't need the specific collagen for joints and bone. All forms of it supplies the amino acids we need to build our own collagen. And yes, vitamin C and copper are also needed to build collagen. Most likely, we need more glycine than only collagen can supply. I think it easily can be the limiting factor for building our own collagen. Glucosamine (probably should be the sulphate form) is helpful too. What it does is supply the molecule needed to build our synovial fluid, which can have an immediate effect on hurting joints. But also for building cartilage, but that's so slow an effect that research doesn't detect it. I myself doesn't utilize it though, because my joints are in good shape without it, but with the above supplements (at age 76). This video was too much product oriented, in my opinion. They probably have an noticeable effect though. But my supplement list actually improve joints, although it takes years to actually do that. Just collagen, even of the right type, isn't enough!

Hydrolyzed collagen: Overall, there is not as strong evidence of a therapeutic effect in osteoporosis as there is for Fortibone. Hydrolyzed collagen can support bone and joint health, but there is insufficient evidence that it can stop osteoporosis or markedly improve bone density to the same extent. Conclusions: Fortibone has a proven therapeutic effect in osteoporosis. Hydrolyzed collagen supports bone health, but there is insufficient evidence of a therapeutic effect in osteoporosis. Summary: Fortibone is more effective in treating osteoporosis than standard hydrolyzed collagen.

The Fortibone only product that I use says 5kDa on the can while the Joint & Cartilage only product says 3kDa. The Full Spectrum collagen has a range of 2kDa to 5kDa. In the end collagen is protein. And yes, incompetent doctors recommend avoiding protein when kidney issues are known. In this case, provably depends on your type of kidney stones. Almost all of them are based on calcium and oxalates. They can be avoided by avoiding any oxalates in the diet and maybe also avoid too much vitamin C. Calcium is not really the problem here, but we know high calcium supplementation is bad anyway. The best diet for kidney health in general is a medium protein (say 90-120g per day), low carb diet. The worst one would be a high carb, low fat, low protein, high oxalate diet.
