I need help can’t find a mechanic that isn’t 3 weeks out before than can take another boat. I have a 2011 mercury optimax 150. I can not get boat to idle. If I crank it in gear it will run and if I let back off it dies again. My first boat and struggling to figure out what could be the issue. Also when I get to about 3/4 throttle I get a constant beep that don’t go away unless I let off throttle a little bit

Well, you have to start at the fuel system. I mean, there is a lot of things it could be honestly, but I would first test the fuel pressure, the air compressor, air pressure, the. air compressor, also has a temperature sensor. You will need a scanner to plug in to look at the perimeters and the readings. The VST tank has a high pressure pump in it. You also have a low pressure pump for the VST mounted on the side of it. And you also have a fuel transfer pump. I mean, there is a lot of things that have to be looked at. unfortunately. I don't think it's something for that. average person. It even takes a shop a little while to work through it. I wish there was more I could help you with. but it would be very difficult without. actually having my hands on the boat. I am sorry.
