Someone Else's Star is a music for Billie. Finneas was for a while confused about his own feelings for guiding Billie's path to stardom while he lagged behind. However, he realized shining someone way wasn't as bad and painful as he thought, so he found value in being "someone's guiding star." Everything I Wanted (by Billie), is a song she did for his brother. In this song she talks about how "someone" helped her to get everything she wanted, however, with the pressure of fame she didn't know what to do and Finneas continued by her side helping her in how she should act, behave and even enjoy the moments in the right way. In other words, he was a guiding star for her, a north.

In "Love is Pain" when he sings about having a dream about his mom and dad, I felt like Finneas just got into my mind and took that from me because for as long as I can remember myself I've always had this happy dream about my mom and dad, but my dad passed away last year and I realised that that dream is never going to become true... and then I hear the lyrics about wishing that dying wasn't mandatory... When I tell you that my soul left my body completely during that moment when I first heard that lyric. Don't think I've ever felt such personal connection to any other song or lyric as with this one, Finneas is truly a genius.

Can I just sit down with you and literally listen and discuss this entire album front to back? Because I'm surrounded by people who don't know how to appreciate a good thing. This album is absolute genius, as Finneas is. I just saw his live in Seattle 2 nights ago and I am still flying high. Waited for him to get on the bus for 2 hours and he is the sweetest most humble human. The song what they'll say about us is about Broadway star Nick Cordero battle and death from covid. His wife Amanda Kloots did IG stories daily throughout it. It's the most beautiful heartfelt tribute to someone he hadn't met but felt so much empathy from watching her journey, like the rest of us, he wrote this song and sent it to her. It is literally the most beautiful thing.
