Updated the NVCleanstall guide for 2023. This is based on version 1.15.1. Also, NVCleanstall works with today’s NVIDIA 528.49 driver. Enjoy!

Some of you guys have asked for this remake. I've remade the NVCleanstall video for 2023 based on NVCleanstall's 1.15.1 release. The encoding has been made this time with Apple Pro Res Codec, some will probably noticed a quality improvement. Enjoy!

I just don't think it's a good idea to disable (and then re-enable) the video card, since with a completely black screen you can't wake it up. It happened to me years ago, I don't remember if it was enough to restart the PC or I had to do something else, but I would advise against it.

Should we every time before updating to new nVidia Driver use - Perform Clean Install option or either DDU software ? I still can't understand is it better every single time to completely uninstall old nVidia driver and then install fresh one, or it's fine to install it on the top of old one. As I understand if you uninstall old driver completely every time then Nvidia Control Panel settings are restored back to Default and every single time you have to set up everything again. Could you explain on that please ? Thank you!✌

No, you don’t need to clean uninstall every time. You only need to do this if there’s issues with the apps or games you’re running and upgrading the driver doesn’t resolve the problem. For most, clean uninstalls should be used as a last resort or if there’s evidence confirming a clean install addresses an upgrade or known bug. For my main OS, I typically perform clean installs after a few driver updates but it’s not required. Hope that clears things up

100% use DDU 100% of the time when updating drivers -- and from safe mode, then reboot into normal mode to install the drivers.

I love the idea of this but there are downsides of having this too "thanks nvidia" unfortunately I have a a feeling that this might get patched and all the fun that there was will be stripped into even a bigger download or an update because its installing something unofficial over the original download. Even though we haven't done anything wrong here its nvidia's BS forcing us to wait forever for the download/install and so on I still have an older graphics card so it can be a nightmare for me to install and the NVClean install would have been perfect for me but out of the fear that this could happen I cant use it anymore.

I have a big problem with this, after I install it, I can’t anymore open the NVIDIA game overlay to record clip, and this happen also if I check all the components and if I don’t check Disable Multiplane Overlay.. someone know how to help me? If I can’t record I don’t need a better driver 🥲

You need to enable the Shadowplay function in the component selection and all the dependencies (you should only need to press yes when it asks you for it), as far I'm aware. You can see it on the lower part of the screen at around 2:35
