Try this method Step 1 open nvidia control panel Step 2 check the nvidia driver Ex. Version 388.81 Step 3 download the driver Just type driver 388.81 and open 1 link. Step 4 download and install the driver Step 5 enjoy. After that custom and mark the clean installation.

Try deleting - "C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation" before you hit "setup.exe"

If you're running Windows 10, even if you set Windows to not automatically download and install drivers (Win 10 Ctrl Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Hardware > Device Installation Settings > No) the Nvidia Ctrl Panel still gets auto-installed. This will ALWAYS interfere with the current attempt to manually install the drivers. I found a solution, or at least a workaround. 1) Run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) current version in safe mode. 2) make sure you select GPU from dropdown on right and Nvidia 3) Select the Clean and Restart option. 4) Let DDU do it's thing and as soon as it goes to restart, disable your internet connection. So if that means unplugging your modem, or wifi adapter - whatever you need to do to disable internet BEFORE the system restart. 5) Now when Windows restarts it won't auto install the Nvidia ctrl panel. Now launch the Nvidia installer and after "Checking System Compatibility" it will give you prompts to install with or without GeForce Experience. 6) You now have access to whatever options you want for the install And Fuck you very much Nvidia for trying to force your GeForce software on people.

After updating windows to may 2019 update i got blue screen of death, & my nvidia gpu stopped working so i uninstalled it from device manager to reinstall, but to my surprise gpu was not detected for reinstalling. So now to follow your steps i dont have NVIDIA folder in C drive... but still i extracted the setup file and created installation location and followed your steps.. this time gpu was detected and setup started but it failed just after 2-3 minutes... This worked for solving compatibility error( Nvidia driver 424.31).but encountered error Nvidia installer failed.

Then i downloaded driver From My laptop manufacturer website(Asus) and installed in compatibility mode(windows 8) it worked but older version of Nvidia driver (may be because my gt 720m won't support latest window version.) IF nothing worked try this way - download drive from your manufacturer website and install older version driver.(at least Nvidia control panel will be available and games will work without new features).👍

if ur nvdia folders are gone, try this. Before yall open the setup, remember u can extract the setup package. Just right click the setup and then go for extract this file (with winrar/7zip). Then put that extrated folder to any directory that u want (mine saved on C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\516.59 [your ver of driver]\Win10_64\International). Then edit that files following this video. Sorry if my english so bad. Hope this help.

@@suffy6248 It's easy. 1st you need to download "Display Driver Uninstaller" and remove every graphics card that you've been installed and connect your PC to internet and let the Windows Update do the work (It will install both Intel and Nvidia graphics card)
