my friend got placed in oracle in 2014 having basic knowledge of java without any certification , without any major ds algo skills , another friend of mine got placed in amazon in 2017 with same skills . So is it over hyped or now a days it requires that much knowledge ?

Hello @gaama. I'm not sure what was the case with your friend, however in my understanding, knowledge of coding and a good grasp on DSA sure helps to crack any tech firm. Hope that helps.
