📣 UPDATE - JUNE 2024 - The Pro 1000 has been updated to include 3 brushing modes, rather than 1. The 3 modes available on the latest version are: Daily Clean, Sensitive & Whitening. It will default to Daily Clean mode. Each time you use the brush you will need to press the power button additional times to switch between modes.

I have both. The Oral B feels like cheap plastic garbage compared to the Sonicare. However all the cavities I had are from the Sonicare's ineffectiveness to clean hard to reach areas. I will say so far the Sonicare did get my teeth whiter but the Oral B seems to clean far better, deeper and along the back, inside of my teeth and along the gumline. Its also better feeling in my mouth which was oversenstive to the highly uncomfortable Sonicare. If Oral B stepped up build quality they would have far superior brush. In this price range, I was expecting better build quality. It feels like it came out of a happy meal box and thats at $50. I'm not impressed with battery life or power so far. As far as cleaning effectiveness I would definitely say the Oral B wins. As far as modes the Oral B wins as well as the cross action brush head. Other drawbacks of the Sonicare is the ability to find replacement brusheads. I have to order online because every year they change the design. I have two sonicare brushes higher end ones I can't ever find brushheads for. This is another reason I switched. One last thing, don't ever go with anything "dentist recommended " they make money by drilling your teeth! Sonicare was a huge let down for me and I ended up with cavities! Last dentist appointment my dentist said I wasn't doing a good job cleaning, dispite brushing at least twice a day with the Sonicare. We will see what they say next appointment

Thanks for explaining. Going with OralB pro 1000. It makes more sense to have a rotating head and also better cleaning.

I bought one of the more expensive Sonicare models years ago, the battery life was awful, it lasted not much more then a year. I paid almost $150 for it. So next time I went with a more economical Sonicare model because I do find it is much more effective then just using a standard toothbrush, I paid around $50 and it just does as good a job as the more expensive model and the battery life is incredible, going on 5 years and still runs like new.

Thanks for sharing. This is so true. Unfortunately many believe or are led into believing that more expensive is better. This isn't always the case.

I believe the cheaper ones are much better. You dont always get what you pay for in this instance when it comes to more expensive models

Same for me, have had two the sonicare diamondcleans the last 3 years and both have died

Not sure if Oral B changed the features of the Pro 1000, but mine has 3 modes at different intensities. I think given this feature, and the cleaning performance the edge should be in Oral B’s favor at this current point in time.

Yo! There's an original thought. In the first 15 seconds I know which you prefer and why!
Ordered the 4100! Almost got the 5100 but figured I don’t care about the two additional brushing settings

Is it good? Also, did you get replacement heads for it? I wonder if it's ok to get alternatives that are cheaper, if they are the same

@@LiranBarsisa yes! Still works great and I only use the original Phillips replacement heads

Do you know what model has a brush head the same size as a regular toothbrush? These c2 heads are half the size

No, I am not personally. I have learnt a lot about dentistry from the registered dental professionals on our team. Full info available here: www.electricteeth.com/about-us/

@@ElectricTeeth Quick question ... at 7:15 you mention the Sonicare 4100 RFID chip on the toothbrush ... how long does that last and will it block me from being able to continue to use the brush forcing me to replace it with a new one? These are important details that always seem to get left out of reviews I've seen.

@@donotcare44 I have a sonicare, and it won't ever stop working because your brush head. But it will annoy you with a yellow led on the handle.

I wouldn't trust any dentist (or doctor) reviews for that matter. At least not in the United States. A lot of them own stock (or get kick backs from medical device companies/medical testing labs and drug companies).

@@ElectricTeeth interesting I might have to give the Oral-B a try, NY Times rated it as the best, but I don't trust main stream media reviews.

Great review! Which one is your suggestion given that Oral B cleans better (is it a significant difference), and Soniccare has better features.
@ElectricTeeth Жыл бұрын
I pick the Sonicare. The differences in cleaning are minimal.
