Bike looks sleek, clean and beautiful. I want one! Btw... So, after the industry divided road bikes into aero, climbing and endurance, now they want to reunite the three into one. Brilliant marketing!

Tesla's Secret yep. Not too many people bringing anything unique to the table anymore. And this is from the “big guys” who actually do R&D, supposedly. There’s a million small fish out there who just make crap or buy cheap stuff from China and rebadge it with a Western name.
@TeslasSecret5 жыл бұрын
@@404nobrakes Well, the entire industry, press very much included, told their client base that they need their bikes to be faster stiffer and more aerodynamically efficient. No wonder that they ended up buying them. That market shift led to the uniformisation of bike frames we see now. Consumerism at its worst really. What about introducing a other Saint trinity, one of "comfier recycled and cheaper"? I've enjoyed the materialistic part of this sport perhaps more than the average rider even, but I wouldn't like this industry to become yet another niche of stupidly wasteful luxury.
@404nobrakes5 жыл бұрын
Tesla's Secret there’s nothing wrong with everything being stiff, light and aero. The whole industry has been playing this game for decades now, though. At some point, people don’t want faster horses. They want an automobile.
@TeslasSecret5 жыл бұрын
@@404nobrakes That's exactly what I'm on about. At some point, for the average Joe, a bike is a bike. Selling extra performances to those who don't need it is selling delusion.

@@mayalman progress my friend.. as what they say. Well the good side for rim brake fans, rim brakes will be cheaper in the future maybe..
@HollyBoni5 жыл бұрын
@@chrislang4858 I think the pricing will stay similar but you will only be able to buy low end rim brakes, because the big manufacturers won't bother making them for the mid level/high end groups. And if you wanted to buy a more decent, higher end rim brake you'll have to turn to small brands and most likely pay a premium. Also, it might be possible that the manufacturers will stop offering brifters for cable actuated brakes (already the case with Shimano GRX). But at that point, it won't make sense to run rim brakes (or cable discs) because the price difference will be so small, or non existent. Most of this already happened in the straight bar/MTB world a long time ago. You can get the cheapest straight bar hydros that Shimano makes for €40. That's for the pair, including calipers and levers. (A pair of Tiagra 4700 rim brake calipers also cost €40...)

@NoxiousNoodles5 жыл бұрын
Embargoes are a mainstay of any industry, allowing people to test and try the products and have a write up ready for when the product is unveiled. They help everyone. The alternative is less exposure for the manufacturer, no articles for the journalism outlet, and no information for the consumer. I'll pass on that.
