We had three of them. They have served us well for years; easily 5+. I can't even remember where we got them. I opened up one as it wasn't spraying quite straight when "Jet" was selected. I must have shot a seal out into the yard as it doesn't work properly anymore so I tossed it. In hindsight I should have tried to clean it with white vinegar and water because the problem was likely a hard water deposit (as others pointed out in this thread) as we're on a well with hard water. Of the two that are left, one has a broken selection ring (but still works) likely from being dropped so many times on concrete. I'll likely buy more of these unless I can find something better. Edit: Today I bought a Dramm Revolution 9 because of its great reviews. If you need a garden sprayer for plants; this is the one for you. The thumb valve is much easier than the Orbit. But, if you need it for lawn and especially cleaning then it IS NOT the one for you. The "Stream" setting of the Dramm did not have the volume of water of the Orbit's "Jet" setting. (I timed it in a bucket. Close, but not on par. Pressure seemed similar.) The Dramm also did not have a "Full" setting like the Orbit to basically shoot water as if there was no sprayer. This is imperative for washing debris off of concrete. The Dram also did not have a "Center" function like the Orbit. Although I had no clue what this was for for years I finally figured it out. It works GREAT to spray out pool pump baskets and for getting stubborn clay remnants off of shovels. The Dramm may have more spray patterns, but the Orbit spray patterns are just better. (at least for my purposes) The Shower pattern of the Dramm didn't have the volume of the Shower pattern of the Orbit. So, I'm returning the Dramm and have bought 3 more Orbit 26700s from Lowes. (I have a 4th hose bib where I may use one of the remaining Orbits.) Beyond that I have Arrowhead Arrow-Breaker hose bibs which supposedly have better water volume than by adding vacuum breakers to regular hose bibs and I also have heavy duty 2 way splitters by MAXFLO on all of my hose bibs.

Yep, I've had for a few years, BUT it will only last for a few years before it starts leaking. I've replaced the one O ring that's accessible a couple of times. The seals around the on/off thumb valve are starting to leak. SOMEONE NEEDS TO MAKE A NOZZLE THAT IS COMPLETELY REBUILDABLE!

I watched this review on the Orbits 8 pattern hose nozzle and find it hard to believe how popsicle the review was. I was looking for repair information and this was not the site for that. I have 3 of these nozzle s which I paid about $16 ea for at Lowe’s. The on off thumb lever is just about nonfunctional; super stiff. Orbits has ZERO customer support and Lowe’s, after 30 days redirected me to Orbits. I have found no cure or ability to listen with any lubricant products. The review was right about one thing, at least for me: I will never buy another Orbits product. A lifetime of working product lasted about 90 days; strictly home use and again, ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE OR REPLACEMENT OPPORTUNITY. Any common issues and problem solving thoughts would be appreciated. Don’t base a purchase of this product based on a review right out of the package. I loved them for a month, annoyed with for a month, and hated thereafter

In the closed position, dripped some Oatey silicone grease into the exit hole (with the front selector part removed). Worked it on/off say 50x to spread the grease out internally and it's now back to normal. Silicone grease because sometimes petroleum based grease can attack rubber seals depending on the seal material - better safe than sorry.

The orbit works great when it works. Nothing but issues with it.1) the slide control gets harder and harder to slide after 2 months2) it leaks everywhere when on any spray pattern. It just drips from the middle. 3) constantly clogs, I use good water through it and hang up so bugs can't get in, so no comments about throwing in dirt or laying down so bgs can get in to clog. Overall it sucks. Except the 1st few months(2max) best I've used. Why cant they fix the issues I see comments like mine everywhere. The slogan last sprayer you'll ever buy. No more like last sprayer I get suckered on. ORBIT DO YOU READ THESE, YOUR DESIGN TEAM NEEDS TO REALIZE THEY DIDNT MAKE TO LAST.

My Orbit worked great for about two years but the thumb control (it is a ball valve as you said) is too difficult to manipulate when the hose is pressured up. It also leaks through when in the 100% closed position. Otherwise it was great but now the work around is to simply open the flow control 100% with the hose de-pressured, and use 'Mist' as 'Off' when using.

This is far from a lifetime product as the video implies. The thumb control is one of the weak points. It gets so stiff after 2 years that it is impossible to move. It will take less time the harder your water is. The good news is that it can be fixed by disassembling the front part. Remove the center screw. Then you have 2 more screws inside. You remove those screws and remove the inner part. That gives you access to the ball valve so you can lube it with silicone grease (this is the only lube to use. The grease will last anywhere from a month to 6 months depending on usage and how hard your water is. But this leads me to the 2nd weak point. Those 2 screws on the inside are not stainless steel and corrode very easily. They are proprietary and not easily bought to replace. This, after maybe 2 years, you will never be able to remove them to service the nozzle and the nozzle becomes trash. It is actually because of these screws not being stainless steel or easily sourced that makes this just another disposable nozzle. It is merely made to look like a lifetime product, but it's just another disposable product.

These push lever types aren't that great. The lever is fine to use a few times but if you're doing something where you need to use it a lot like doing a tile job or anything else where you have to turn it on/off 10+ times in a row, it will destroy the skin on your thumb, plus the lever gets harder to turn on/off over time from throwing the hose down on the ground.

I have a Stanley (tools) nozzle like you are showing here. When water pressure hits the nozzle, the plug or cap on one side of axle comes loose, water gushing out from the side instead of the nozzle. Two questions to anyone: (1) Is this repairable or is it pretty much kaput? (2) Don't Stanley tools have lifetime warranty, like Sears Craftsman?

This is worst than the plastic nozzles. The slide will begin to seize up and I can’t imagine it being arthritis friendly for that reason. Avoid it, spend the money on a nozzle that is much easier to adjust the spray open/close.
