If you could throw the cards as a projectile that did cool stuff on top of getting the buffs, it'd probably be more fun? Maybe the cards could explode or something, giving a small AOE to the scoundrel, or have different effects like create a turret or something, or create an orb you could shoot through to enhance your shots? Weird different effects instead of just flat buffs, meaning you have to adapt to the randomness, as opposed to the Musketeer where you have set orbs you can equip.

I'm up to level 7 on paladin but want to give this a shot. How do I go about leveling all over? Do I grind?

You can go to the beginner weapon vendor in Highsteppe (by the Smith in the tree) and grab Scoundrel equipment. Then you just play the game and gain xp on Scoundrel :)

A lot of the basics are the same. The only things that changed are two cards swapped what happens when they get burned, and I learned a LOT more about Scoundrel haha. I think I’ve got a 2021 video up. If not, I recommend Lavawhale’s build as it’s much easier to hit high numbers with.

It’s effective and does decent enough damage. It’s great at getting interrupts on bosses and is among the favorite classes for Sewer Slime. It may be getting a Damage buff soon as well

I just finished a Hard Mode Raid as a Scoundrel. While you don’t pull great damage against trash, it’s more than adequate for Bosses

I will say for everyone who looks at this comment wondering later on that Scoundrel is perfectly viable as DPS, there’s a lot of different ways to add more damage depending on your preferences of card uses and and talents. Showing off actually isn’t NEARLY as important as some people make it out to be. It’s also a massively useful class for people who have a lot of trouble with the mechanics of Runemage. I have chronic tremors in my hands especially under scenarios that induce social anxiety, which made Runemage casting next to players nearly impossible for me, but the larger movements of Scoundrel allows to accurately aim and deal dps without needing spend literal days in game just practicing my spells. It can provide debuffs like poison, multiple types of armor breaking, and even heal itself, while also providing a nice bit of damage. I know people like Runemage a lot, but for players who have fundamental issues with that class, it provides a lot of that versatility without needing to compromise your enjoyment of the game just to be “good”

The showing off buff can get you nearly 60% more damage. It’s absolutely important, I’d even say vital to playing the class. But ya, Scoundrel has confirmed sustained 100k over a minute, so it’s capable of hitting higher than most players ever will :)

I was a little bit after the release. Held off for a few months because of the graphics but ended up biting the bullet and going for it. Nearly 4000 hours of gameplay and I’m still enjoying it!

I am by no means a good Scoundrel. Scoundrel mains spend time to get good at curving bullets. I do not.
