paladin has got to be the best starting class! just hit 30 in my first week with him and he's the ultimate traveler, can escape aggro easily with the throw teleport, and has great survivability despite being unable to destroy monsters very quickly. great ez class for beginners, or older people who don't want to draw infinite spells at lightning speeds. LOL just noticed the title THOR-BUS

Glad you're enjoying them! I'm still learning paladin myself, and typically only use it when I'm fighting ranged mobs. Those guys can tear up a Warrior in shard dungeons in no time, but Paladin has more survivability for that! I've also never seen anybody but Loganator one tank an entire raid, and that was as a Paladin, so there's something to be said about that!

Take encouragement I can not stress this enough, that is an extra 10% strength and intellect to all your allies (mostly your dps) so now they do a good chunk more of damage

There’s a bit of a cooldown for the Paladin heal, and it doesn’t heal nearly as much as will be needed in group content unfortunately

I started to work on this class a few days ago, just loving it! I have a question though: some armor pieces come with the DoT damage bonus. Does it make any difference for Paladin? Can Paladin make any DoT at all?

Not that I'm aware of. MAYBE it'll affect your Bleeds if you have that on your hammer? I think I have XP gain on mine.

hey you glossed over the super ability how do you activate it I managed to get it once and I know you're supposed to squeeze the trigger when it's charged but I don't know how to charge it

You squeeze both triggers then basically slap yourself. I dunno, I never use the Paladin ult because I have healers that keep me alive lol

Grab your compass, turn it upside down. That opens your journal, which has a ton of useful information in it

Paladin is the main tank used by most end game players. It’s not weak.

How do you activate the heal ability? Not the libram.

They hammer of forgiveness is used by pulling the trigger while your hammer is in an ally. Lay on Hands works by activating your super, then pulling grip in the hand it’s equipped on.

i watched this to find out how to use the super ability but you glossed over it and didnt really explain? how do you charge it and use it n how do you know when its charged? the purple bar?

Glossed over it because at the time, I had no idea either! Pull both triggers to activate Lay On Hands. You’ll know it’s active because your offhand will be glowing. To use the heal, grip that light the same way you’d pull one of your books. That uses the heal. You charge it by hitting baddies, and the yellow bar is the one that’ll show how soon it’s ready.

Whichever trigger you use to cast spells/click/teleport to your hammer. Pull that on both controllers

Elliot Bellerby paladin? Nah. I only know of two end game players that can keep up with Paladin. Everybody else switches to Warrior.

It’s good for overworld Pve but in dungeons (shards) warrior is so much better during bosses

I would love Paladin but the orb mechanic completely kills it. You only get two basic attacks before you have to wait for your cooldown to get orbs again. You may as well stand there and do nothing because your attacks do like 1% damage until you can recharge. The amount you gain from taking damage is basically non-existent. And the hammer throw is useless. I don't know how you manage to throw it with any amount of accuracy but mine always goes straight into the ground. It isn't released when I release the button and it doesn't travel in the direction my arm moves. It may as well not exist.

If you didn’t have a cooldown on the pips, you’d be dealing an obscene amount of damage. Paladin is a tank, not a DPS class. I’ve gotten a full five pips from single attacks. It’s based on the damage you take, so the higher level content you do, the faster you build them up. Throwing the hammer just takes practice :)

@@PKIllusion1 Yeah it'd be op if you did literally no other changes, but why would you remove the pip mechanic and not change the damage values to reflect it? I understand being a tank, but you have to do at least some amount of damage. Nobody wants to play as a brick wall. And sure maybe high level content does make it faster but that means you only get to see that in a small portion of the game. But as a tank I'm not supposed to be taking damage. As you said you have a combination of high armor, a passive 50% damage reduction, and a 99% reduction cooldown. I just wanna swing my hammer around bonking things but it feels really bad, like I need permission to swing my hammer at all.

Wait till you see what being a Warrior is all about. It’s just brick wall, almost 0 damage… and I love it. But ya, as a Paladin you should absolutely be taking damage, as that’s how you put it back out. It’s built to be a reactionary “you hit me, I hit you” class.
