Awesome video. I like the gem snippets. Bulbo grandiflorum is jaw droppingly beautiful as are the waxy catasetum flowers. Any scent for either? I just bought my first coelogne named Coel. Orchideengarten Joachim (Coel. usitana x Coel. salmonicolor) and I'm struggling a bit with it as the leaves come out a bit crinkled. I suppose I would have seen flowers by now if it was to flower. It has good roots and i think this one needs to stay moist to thrive. How do you grow your speciosa? Beautuful roadside footage...always enjoy your vids. Thanks for sharing!

thanks :) B. grandiflorum is rumoured to smell like pepper but I haven't smelled that. I remember one time I felt a fragrance but I forget exactly what it smelled like. The C. pileatum smells great like fresh lemon with something floral especially on a really sunny day. For the coelogyne it was in terrible shape until I kept it wet with demineralized water and in a cool place with bright light but no direct sunlight. I find that mine took quite a while to get acclimatized ...to give you an idea it's next to the masdevallias, nellie isler and the miltoniopsis...in a bathroom. Happy New Year and thanks for visiting again :)

@@Orchidomania I figured out the not liking direct sunlight for the coelogne. It's the only orchid whose leaves turn orange in direct light 🙄 the first leaf struggled to unfold and I simply cut the tip off. The 2nd leaf fared better with a light mineral oil spray. It looks normal but I'm fairly certain that it will not flower. Does yours grow leaves year round? I'll switch to RO water and see if it improves. Heavy sigh 🙄

@@ResQuetzal ...😂 heavy sigh 😂...no it does not grow year round. It flowers first during the colder months and the leaves develop after from that growth...like Zygopetalum
