Now we know that as long there is wind and some shade then orchids can grow in direct sunlight. It is amazing how nature looks after the orchids and other plants and flowering plants. We just have to try and recreate the growing area for them. Like you said. Looks like you enjoyed your time.

Thank you Kim 😊 Yes it was beautiful! Once the fog rolls in it's amazing how cold it can get...the orchids live on an knife's edge between being burnt to death, drying out and "freezing"...and somehow it all works out 💪🌸

Great video. The elevation also counts for a lot. I found similar environments on my recent trip to Borneo, just amazing seeing them in the wild.

Thanks Lynn 😊 That must have been amazing ...always wanted to make it to Borneo. Was it an organized tour or you went into the wild by yourself?

Orchidomania Yes 24 of us on an organised tour. Flew from Perth to Kota Kinabalu and worked our way through the island to the north for the international Kuching orchid show. Was amazing. If you can get there when there’s a show on do so, you won’t regret it. Lots to see, beautiful country and flora.

awesome place..:) but there is another thing that really get my attention every time i see orchids in the wild.. most of the times the plants are ugly ..;)
@Orchidomania4 жыл бұрын
Awesome indeed 😊 And yes it is quite shocking what state wild orchids are in...probably that's how they were discovered, in a pile of weird, half dead leaves a beautiful flower 🌸😉 Thanks for all your support on KZbin and Facebook
