Best shot in the history of cinema. I watched it for the first time when I was 20, ten years later it still mesmerizes me all the same. It's nothing short of a miracle, this is the kind of scene that stays with you for a lifetime.

It's incredible - I love how you can hear the floorboards creaking as the camera operator slowly pushes the dolly. Would be considered a technical mistake of course, but with the context of this scene and the likeness of the film's style to theater, it just helps to accentuate the raw intimacy of this moment.

proud of my fellow Danes, Kaj Munk (who was a pastor and play writer wrote the play, and was murdered by Gestapo in 1944) the acclaimed Danish director Carl Th. Dreyer brought it to the screen and several outstand Danish actors, Emil Hass Christensen, Birgitte Feiderspiel and her dad, Preben Ledorff Rye, and others did an outstanding actor job.
