Nice find! I'd love to start making my own cabs but for now I'll have to settle for my rock tumbler. I found some phenomenal jasper out along the very southern tip of Texas last summer that I need to make in to something.

Honestly, my knee jerk assessment was "Purple Opal?!" I don't think that's chalcedony. I think it's common opal.
