Agreed. Pork and fruit is a well tested combination. Also.... it just isn't cooked long enough; they never seem to be done long enough to brown properly. If you want crispy casings on your sausages you are best cooking them in the oven on a wire grill (so that they're not just sitting in their own fat/sausage water). The frying pan method is not great for ring style sausages that you can't turn to cook evenly.

This is why sausages traditionally were made rather dryly (something we can't really ask of Ordinary Sausage with these whackjob sausages he makes, since many of them are naturally quite moist) and also hung for a few days before cooking to allow the mix to settle and combine properly, as well as for any excess moisture to seep out through the semi-permeable membrane. It's why we've been saying for the longest time that he should put a tray in the bottom of the toaster oven as a drippings catchment and have the sausage cook bare on the upper grill.

Pibb EXTRA calls itself a "spicy cherry soda" on the label and I tolerate it pretty well but it's a Dr. Pepper clone or Dr. Peppers a clone of it.
