Ordinations 2021 // The Church of England in Lancashire (Diocese of Blackburn)

This is our official video to mark the ordination of new Priests and Deacons in The Church of England in Lancashire which takes place this year on July 3/4, 2021.
This video, recorded as the ordinands prepared to go on retreat to our Centre for Christian Discipleship and Prayer at Whalley Abbey, profiles a selection of this year's 24 candidates for Priest and Deacon (three Priests and three Deacons).
They will be serving in a variety of parishes across Lancashire - from rural to urban. In the video, the ordinands talk about their journeys to ordination; give some insight into their training and also talk about the impact of the pandemic on their ministry and training.
The video also features Rt Rev. Julian Henderson, Bishop of Blackburn; Rt Rev. Philip North, Bishop of Burnley and Rt Rev. Dr Jill Duff, Bishop of Lancaster in conversation about the importance of ordination.
Also featured is Revd Nick McKee, our Director of Vocations and Retreat Chaplain for the ordinands' retreat at the Abbey.
