I’ve been hiking the Cape Lookout trail from the campground to the Cape trail parking area almost every other day this past week. I’m amazed a ranger told you that it was closed. Sorry you missed it. There’s a cool suspension bridge and some awesome views. And lots of ripe Salal berries too. Thanks for sharing your adventure.

I'm almost tempted to take a break from desert hiking and try a long walk along the beach. Thanks for giving us something a little different.

I did the trail up to Cape Lookout about 10 days ago (September 2) and it was open.

Nice hiking! The beach south of Cape Lookout is one of my favorite hikes- you are on my stomping grounds there. When we did that section on the OCT there was a dead whale on the beach.

2019 I hiked from Ft. Stevens to Brookings. Didn't do my research well enough to realize that 70% of the trail was yellow blazing on 1 and 101. Gorgeous views. Lack of fresh water on the beach hikes. Almost daily town stops.

Happy to see your cute face again. Tell me, does your muscles feel different after walking on the sand? Or your hiking legs are use to it all
