Thanks Tinman. I watched my friend do his Pioneer & was impressed. You and Jerry have convinced me to do my 7-10a. It has always been smooth idle & excellent Top end but restart has been a nightmare. Like Buckin's was doing for you. Peace

Those chips have saved me with some old homelites, so much better and easier than messing with points. My mac and some of my homelites run like that. It takes a little longer to get all that mass moving as well as slowed down. Great video.

All Macs have me messing with the idle screw after running a more modern saw. I always think they are Lean. Glad to see I'm not the only one. I really like the ignition chip. New points you get are pretty horrible. I am always messing with old stuff and if the original points are bad I look for a electronic option.

Hi, nice Job. I just installed some of these Modules , but they are not working in every Igniter. You should always take a timing light to check before and after installing these great Modules. Sometimes you have to regroove the Flywheel. Right now i‘m repairing a Honda Tiller G50 from 1970s,which has a Temperature Ignitionproblem with backfiring into the intake after 3 Minutes of Running under load. I think it is the condenser but you don‘t get any new Sparepart. So i put a External chainsaw Condenser in. Lets see if she runs😃 Thanks for your nice Videos!

@@tinmanssaws same with my 10-10 a lot of momentum even though the rpm come down it just takes a bit to idle all the way past clutch engagement. I have played with mine and it's a fine balance between keeping idle and slow to stop spin and falling on it's face. L and H jet both real close to 1 turn.

I've always run condensers from the auto parts store in all my mopeds, chainsaws and anything two-stroke that needs a condenser, I usually ask the parts counter for a condenser for 1969 Chevy Nova and if they don't have it in stock I just look in the area where they would normally store it but just about any condenser will work you just might have to modify the timing advance or retardation to get it dead on again

I've always wanted to know what timing different chips produce. Timing and timing curve (if any) is built into the chip. Way back in the olden days, a firm called Atom came out with chips (they were not extremely reliable unfortunately) and they had several different color codes that each had different timing. So you could pick the advance you wanted. It would be way cool to throw a timing light

Yes points and condensors are not what they used to be. New points and condensors are no longer a priority even for the original equipment manufacturers to make. Everything has gone electronic decades ago and manufacturers no longer have a interest in making these things, they have moved on, so manufacture of the old technology is outsourced, these days to China. Unfortunately as we know a lot of Chinese stuff looks the part but is made of inferior materials. I recently had a brand new Echlin points and condensor fail catastrophically after only 2 hours. Changing to electronic is the way to go. That's what I did.
