In this episode of Oregon Inlet, true crime
takes place on the shallow waters of the inlet. The Watermen of Wanchese tell tragic sea stories from the 50's, 70's, and 80's. Dare County commissioners are looking for
short and long term relief as Oregon Inlet holds true to its reputation. Captain Billy
Carl and Captain Jimmy Rhule agree that they are fighting more than just sand and
swell in the newest installment of Oregon Inlet: The Outlet of the Outer Banks.

Really look forward to these episodes, keeps me up to date with what’s REALLY going on ,… don’t get up to Wanchese, Bodie Island, as much as I used to,… it’s great that you are showing the importance of a jetty, to the folks up there ,… the people, their families, their livelihood, depends on that inlet staying open!!!!,.. there has been more than enough “federal “ and state, taxpayers money, to have built a jetty !!!!

The OBX has a ton of natural history and it has a ton of great people that chosen to live and/or visit. I've done both and this series is a pleasure to watch. I pray that God saved all the souls who had nothing but to make a living on the sea and sand~!

They don’t need the Army Corp of Engineers. For this job they need a big outfit like Great Lakes Dredge and Dock to design and build it the correct way, on time and on budget. This is a project that could even sub contract work out to companies like Weeks Marine and McLean . Outfits like these don’t play around. They will deliver a finished product.

USACE has been trying to get private dredges to takeover dredging since the 70s. They kept the Minimum Dredge Fleet of Essayons, Yaquina, Wheeler and MacFarland to insure the job gets done. There has been some new builds among private but it has been very slow. The fear is that once the MDF is gone then the price for dredging will be prohibitive. Careful what you wish for.

Your doing a great job keep it up. It doesn’t take a very smart person to realize you could of taken the old bridge and use it as a jetty base instead of making Artificial reefs. We could of used the old bridge an cut the price in half of the jetty if not more. The funny part is it probably never crossed the GOVERNMENTS mind

@@CXCVIDEO I love it man! Loving this series! Thank you so much! We were at ocracoke back in early july and my wife fell on the ferry, bashed her head really good and required medical attention. Knowing what I know now about the shoals, I sent the captain a huge thank you, not only was he facing the pressure of an injured passenger, I'm sure he felt extra pressure to not get stuck! Kudos to all those brave folks!

Need to get the northerners that have moved to Dare out of office just to save our culture and heritage. Do we really need another Virginia Beach?

OBX will never be a Va beach. Not nearly as many rental opportunities.
