I have the utmost respect for captains using Oregon inlet…..I took on 14FT swells at new River inlet…like Capt Frog Tillet, I didn’t fare too well either

The women that are married to us commercial fisherman (scalloper here, but live in NC) are what keep us sane. Although, it is nice when you lose cell service & all the thoughts of anything other than our task at hand is gone!

I love your series, but I was disappointed when you said you were going to "talk about the neighboring inlets on the outer banks" and yet completely omitted Hatteras and Ocracoke inlets, both of which are just as dangerous as Oregon inlet (depending on which direction the seas are running). Best for all if we had a minimum of two inlets. If Oregon inlet is rough due to a NE swell, then Ocracoke and Hatteras would be safe, and vice versa if the swell is from the SE. Also, when Grenville was at what would be named "Cape Fear" it was a navigational error, he was trying to transit through Ocracoke inlet to get to Roanoke island Neither Oregon nor Hatteras inlets existed in the 1500's.
