I have chronic dry eye, so I go through several boxes of eye drops each month. They come.in boxes that about ~5" x 2.5" x 3"which makes them a great size for little bits and bobs. They fit just right in my bathroom drawers, so I took a bunch of them, cut the tops off and covered them with pretty contact paper. They hold my bobby pins, hair ties, makeup, q-tips, etc in the bathroom, and in my desk they store paper clips, rubber bands, thumbtacks, etc. I also have a bit of a gelato obsession. I save all those plastic talenti jars for storage of screws, bolts, nails, etc in the garage, and in the office, I prettied them up by spray painting the lids rose gold and adding pretty ribbon and chalkboard labels to store stuff like beads, washi tape, buttons, etc.

I LOVE that!!!!! I spend way too much time starting at my recyclables before letting them go.... I stare thinking, "what can I turn this into?? Can I re-use it for anything else"? LOL

@@TheCraftyOrganizer me too! But I primarily focus on stuff I buy over and over since the packaging will be the same size for little things. And glass because it is really hard to recycle, takes a lot of energy usage apparently. But my personal pet project is fabric. Did you know over 40% of landfill waste is textiles?!?!?! I make it my mission to keep as much of our family's clothing out of the trash! I buy better quality garments, old things in good shape get donated, anything not fit for donations I use in upcycling projects!

I'm really the only mother figure she has ever had. She's a real handful, and at 53 with health issues, she really wears me down. Oh, it's 8:40 P.M. and she's still bouncing off the walls. So much for me crafting tonight.

I have wood tool box with one of those thick dowel handles. The box is divided into about five sections. It matched my decor style so I placed it on the back of my 30" deep writing desk to keep my pens and markers in. But they kept falling over and became hard to grab. I discovered that empty toilet paper rolls could fit in the sections nice and snug. My pens stand up nicely in them and remain sorted! Love it! The rolls themselves are out of sight.

I frequently build similar boxes from sheets of foam-core. DollarTree.com has bundles available online, also Office Depot. I use E6000 and T-pins to hold everything together. For larger sizes I double-up the foam-core. (I also build open shelving to hold Dollar Tree.shoe boxes. I glue thin sheets of paneling to the bottom.of the shelves for extra stability.) Certainly more affordable than purchasing storage plus this is the ideal time to create units for future usage.

Dear Nor in Tks I made a cart similar to a rascal with cardboard kitchen roll tubes and four wheels. I am super happy with it and I am planning to make a second but I hv to get the wheels. I spent a mere 1.25 to make it and it is functioning well.thanks for all your suggestions .Tc stay safe

Great idea! Once I used empty Pringle cans and wrapped the outside with pretty paper and glued them to a small thin board and used them for my different types of floral wires. That was when I first started crafting and didn't have a lot of money to spend on storage containers. I enjoy all of your videos!!

The Crafty Organizer I wish I could, but because of the virus, my husband got in to see it before the lock down, but I’ve only been able to see the thing on the estate agents Internet site, and hubby took me to look in the windows, I know what I want to do already, it’s a bit tired as it was an old lady that went to a nursing home, so I know what colours where I want to put them. We will only get the key the day we are moving so I can’t do it before either, but I’ll get there! Thank you for answering xxx

I never throw away meat trays just wash them and use them for storage organiser in my garage. As you put your trays in that box,i put long wooden sticks on the wall and put the trays one next to the other on shelves everything is so neat and tidy can just go, look and grab what i need.

I avoid buying those black plastic trays, they have a dye in them which means the recycling plant can’t recycle them so they always have to go to landfill. But if someone already has them then it’s totally sustainable to reuse them but I wouldn’t buy them especially. I’ve been trying to learn more about sustainability recently 😊

I’ve used stackable letter trays (6 for $15 on amazon) with shallow dollar store drawer organizers as drawers. I love them because you can take them apart to clean and easily put them back together. It has become my favorite organization on my craft desk.

Have you ever shopped at a Goodwill Outlet (aka, the Bins)? I haven't had a chance to yet but I've seen several videos from people who do and I've noticed they seem to always a good variety of baskets and various containers that are perfect for crafting and organizing.

I love this idea! The furring strips made it so easy to slide those in and out. I thought you were going to have to dremel grooves, but that was too easy. I have a lot of those containers some that I bought from Amazon and then some we get when we get Chinese delivered Etc. I started crafting in 2005 and was definitely on a very small budget. Something that has worked fantastic for me is that I had two two-drawer file cabinets. I space those apart so that a chair and my legs could be in between and on top of them I put some rubber shelf liner and then laid a door over it to form a table. The hole for the door knob had been was a great place to put all of my electronic cords through so they were out of the way. In the two drawers is where I stored all of my card stock. I had a hanging file folder for full pieces of each color. In front of the full pieces I put a manila folder in the hanging file folder and that was for my scraps went so like you before I ever cut a new sheet of cardstock I would look through my scraps to see if there was a piece I could use. It was right there for I set so it was super easy to get to my card stock which let's face it that's the first thing you grab typically. Also having it inside the file cabinets kept it out of the sunlight and kept dust off of it. I watched another video of yours where you would put things in plastic bags and I love the idea of putting a cut down manila folder in there to keep it standing upright. I'm going to have to utilize that since I also often store things in zip type bags.

Love the food containers for storage! I have actually been keeping mine now instead of putting them in recycling. Not sure what I will use them for but I'm sure one day I will. This one is going to solve some of my crafting storage for sure! I wonder if meat containers made of styrofoam will work? I so hate throwing them into the landfill. Washed in soapy clorox of course. I've been looking for some wall mounted storage ideas.

You can get 4" or 6" pine boards in 8-10 foot lengths from the hardware store for just a couple dollars... have them cut down to the length you want your shelves to be and mount them on your wall with Dollar Tree brackets (2/$1) You'd have 3-4 shelves for UNDER $10

I really like this idea!! I have things that I use a lot all over my desk. Some of my bigger items like cutters and glue guns are in my top drawer or in a storage pocket in plastic shoe boxes with lids. I really don't like this system. Thank you for this wonderful idea!! ❣️

I kept thinking I'd seen this box in your house before, but I couldn't remember where. You did a video where you showed how you used one of those metal shelving units in your kitchen, where you were talking about those suction containers you stored cereal in. You showed that pressure lock handle and how the kids had to lock it in order to get it on the shelf. I think you said you made them that distance for that reason. Anyway, I'm almost positive this box was to the left of those containers. You had some sort of papers in it, I think. Am I way off?? Lol Also, thank you for the level app idea!! Ok, another issue for me. I have a work table but no work space. As I’m working I find pretty soon I’m trying to work in a 12” x 12” square. I’ve tried to find units to store my brushes, wire etc. etc but now they are overtaking my work table too . Part of the issue is multiple crafts: floral, painting, upcycling and many different supplies. Can I send pictures for your advice?!

You say.... 'I love you'. In all the homes I've been in - and all the times I've been asked to 'make' someone's partner conform. I always say back - you can only control your own space. 80% of the time, the partner likes seeing the newly organized system and starts to convert on their own. However, you can't ask someone to change. Accept and love them for who they are.... even though it's frustrating. I know you wanted a different answer. 💙

I like what you've done...don't have those containers, and not going to buy a lot of them to only use a few...but what I do have are MUSHROOM BASKETS. We eat mushrooms, sometimes I get a lot of them...did you know they will hold Vitamin D if you put them out in the sunshine? Even after cooking they have it...anyway, I have 3 different sizes of the containers, and I have cardboard boxes - we buy our pet food on the internet, and have it delivered to our home, less expensive, I don't have to go out to buy it...so I think, I'm going to build some of these organizers to fit my mushroom baskets! Thanks for the idea. If anyone wants to gift me any of those little plastic trays, I'll happily make some of them too. :) OK, now to get busy...Thank you for this tutorial!!! I see an organized craft room and sewing room in my future. Maybe even in my closet...time will tell. :) Blessings

Hi how can I organize 3 large walk in cupboards, I need a space so I can reach every thing as I'm disabled and need things to be at a easy to reach so I don't over balance when I moved into my large bungalow the toilet, wet room and kitchen were fitted out with grab rails and accessories aids, but all the other stuff got put in the 3 cupboards in boxes one on top of another filling all of them And as we are in lock down here in the UK its driving me mad I can't find anything and I get so far and then my back or leg hurt so a put everything back for another day Please help send some of your fairy magic over my way so I can find my way to sort this problem out Debbie UK

I love your personality, it's awesome!
