Nutella creeping at 1:14 completely cracked me up. Watching someone organize their space absolutely gives me the energy to tidy up my own. Thank you!

I feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one with space to clear out.

I have some boxes where I put books and other spaces I put them instead of in the book case. My yarn us aside from 2 yarns in one box hidden inside a minimal bigger box. One of the left out yarns is somewhat bulky and the other is multi colours. Currently I'm using yarn pieces to teach myself the different stitches.

I'm making a king sized granny square quilt to de-stash. But I also need to decluter my livingroom so we can get rid of a couch on it's last legs. Hubby isn't willing to call a friend to shlep it down from our 4th floor appartment until the runway is cleat. Then the old futon can go back up and the flat boxes of yarn will have a home again underneath it. The joys of living in a small appartment.

Sewing makes so much waste so I make a pillowcase out of some sturdy fabric and put all the scraps in there. When it’s full I sew it shut and donate it to the local animal shelter as a pet bed. Great trick I learned from a quilter!

I so appreciated that it took so many days to first tackle the stuff and then getting everything back in and organized. I think tackling one area or type of stuff at a time was a great inspiration too. And I LOVE your dog!!!!!! So sweet!! Thank you

I thought I was the only one with a quilt-of-misfortune-project on the list. A whole box of felted knits, that are going to become a lovely blanket after a few more accidents have occurred...
@onegirlarmy44013 жыл бұрын
Your felted items make great hot pads for your oven! Just cut them into 8x8 squares (or a bit smaller) and use just like they are! They would make nice gifts too.

I love how you reuse, repurpose and recycle items and furniture to create a “new” and functional office and crafting space. Sure, sometimes you do need all new things, but often, you already have half of them at home if you just look around! And it’s more economical and environmentally friendly to boot (and lets you invest in the things that really fill a need, because budget).

Have you thought about making slippers from the knitted/felted garments? Might be a fun project.

If you make an overskirt for the romper, use one of the colors in the pattern. Doesn’t help with the scraps, though.

I really appreciate that you showed an imperfect "before" view, rather than one that was almost perfect already. My "to do" list for this week includes organizing some cubbies I've got in my office/craft room! Maybe you know this already, but I'd feel remiss if I didn't mention it's not great for the bindings of (most) books to be laid flat with other books atop them. It puts a lot of stress on the hinges and weakens them. That said, I've got a number of books just laying around willy nilly, so obviously I'm not too precious with my own.

I started working on my space a few days ago. Right now it looks both worse and better! I got some drawers at a thrift shop so I have been sorting and labeling. I’ve even found the lost half of my desk!! So I can set up another sewing machine!! It’s a slow process and I’m only doing one part of the room. I call it my sewing room but it’s also my office, library and crafts room! I doubt it will ever be done but it will be more workable!

👍🏻👍🏻Thank you for sharing this video. My crafting supplies need some major organizing. Now that I’ve been making crafting/DIY videos I have really upped the craft supplies I have on hand. It’s messy! This was helpful. Inspiring to see and I think I can do it too. Wish I had a whole room but I’ll make it work. Thanks for the tips and tricks. I hope we can keep in touch and continue to learn from each other. 👍🏻👍🏻

Your 'before' space looks very familiar :( Not only have I stuffed my study to such an extent that it looks like a candidate for one of those 'hoarder' exposés, but I've also colonised the whole of the dining room next door. I'm now inspired, however, to get hold of those items I need to be able to organise my yarn stash and knitting notions, the bags of ball bands, piles of completed items that will no longer fit in the two camphor lined chests... I shall follow your example and take before and after photos too. Thank you.
