I just found your channel and LOVE IT. I'm also a Professional Organizer (and an alto - but not a pro like you!) and can't tell you how much I appreciate this unique and very helpful video. I am totally going to add a heating pad and chocolate to my kit (brilliant!!) and will show my daughter this video when she's a little closer to getting her first period. Seriously I wish I knew this stuff when I was a teenager. Keep up the awesome work!!

My mom never told me about periods. I didn't learn about them until I was 12. Super sad, but she had been taught that it was taboo, so I don't blame her. I did find out through the internet. I'm 13 now, I still don't have my period, (family is alk late bloomers) but I want to be prepared.

The Diva Cup (portable one) is AMAZING and they work crazy good and are environmentally friendly as well. You have the initial cost of the cup but you won't be buying tampons anymore and A LOT LESS panty liners. You don't have to use a panty liner, but I am one of those "just in case" type of people. But anyway, they do take a minute to get the hang of (ummm, there's no other way to put this) inserting it...but once you get it figured out, it's amazing! To be completely honest though, I have not looked into the safety of it. I mean you are putting plastic up there, but versus using a tampon all the time...

I would totally use it (I think I tried it when it first came on the market), but sadly, my doctor told me I couldn’t use them with an IUD. Maybe that’s TMI, but I was super sad about that!
@iselaacosta28326 жыл бұрын
I have one. I bought number1. I tried it only once because of leaking. I'm using pads for now. Do you know anything that I can to make the cup work better?
@madnessofmymind6 жыл бұрын
I did not have a good experience with the Diva. However, softcups (I found at walmart) seemed to work much better, but in my case, I still needed the pad on the heaviest two days. There was no option.

@@iselaacosta2832 maybe you need the larger kind? Using the LENA cup myself; got both sizes - love them.

My period is irregular and always very heavy so I use the adult diapers with max absorption because the pads doesn't hold enough (on days I wear tight or close fitted pants, I get the athletic one so it won't show), I also carry the Summer's eve feminine spray for freshness, Summer's eve wipes, dollar tree acetaminophen (red bottle) for cramps, and a packet of hot chocolate with marshmallows. I like what you put in your bag so I might add some of your ideas too. Tfs.
@TheOrganizedSoprano7 жыл бұрын
I hear ya. I actually have a copper IUD which has a huge effect on how heavy mine is, and it's the worst. I've found some things that work, but I'm actually intrigued by your solution. I LOVE the hot cocoa! So cozy and cute! Thanks for watching!

love that you posted this video. definitely not something you see on YT a lot and perfect for young girls! i also carry a "ready kit" with the basics (tampons, panty liners, pads, and a spare pair of underwear)!

YAS, a ready kit is a MUST! Is there chocolate in yours too? LOL I wish I had someone to tell ME this when I was 14 and totally disorganized around Flo time. I was a MESS (pun intended). Thank you so much for watching!

This is too funny - I've been planning out what I'm going to put in my little kit - down to the square of chocolate! :) - since I want to upgrade from just throwing a bunch of stuff in my bag every month. And then this video popped up in my suggestions! Good ideas; I've never tried the heating pad thing, but maybe I will.

The little heating pad is great if you're in a pinch and you can't go home for a while. It stays hot all day!

Great video .. I have always had a kit in my locker and then as an adult in my office and car . I never thought about the heating pads . I would not use the feminine wipes as they have chemicals. I think you should use water and toilet paper daily to clean yourself. This eliminates many problems like UTI ‘s .

I totally get the non-taboo of bodily functions. My family was very open about the body (male and female because I have a sister and brothers). My dad was a medic in the military and my mom was very matter of fact about these things and I never realized that the medical terms (ie, vagina and penis) were so taboo. I only learned about that in middle school when it was explained in health class that there was a weird taboo on the names and that the teachers refused to use non-medical terms. (I had a female teacher in my first year and a male teacher in my second year. Everyone had to have health class each year in middle school (grades 7&8) in my middle school.)
