The opening alone made me cry. I don't know about you, but sometimes, very rarely, I hear something that sounds so beautiful, happy or sad, doesn't matter, that you just start tearing up and it feels like your heart will jump out of your chest. That was just how I felt during the opening of Ori, this game is truly special.

Well I think its clear it will come out eventually...the way I see MS strategy with these smaller games like Cuphead and Ori is first to sell them like 2-3 years on their Xbox and PC and then bring them to Switch when they have gotten what they can from those platforms first. Some would argue against Microsoft strategy "why you are handing these games over to other platforms", but I would argue whats the point to keep them the platforms when/if everyone who had wanted to play the games on those platforms have played them already.....at that point its best to give them to the audience on platform like Switch who do not play on PC or Xbox.

It's not a friendhip...that's a great metaphor... if you're 12. Microsoft sells games on Switch...pardon...indie games on Switch NOT because they're nice and they're BFF with nintendo...it's because Switch sells indies like no console ever. In some cases, even better than PC. And why is that? Because Switch offers the portable version of all current relevant indie games. Microsoft does this because it makes mone, not because they're nice, or hold hands with nintendo on their way to school...

It doesnt work that way...Matt Booty from Xbox Studios said recently that smaller "indie" games are something that they would release on other platforms like Switch especially eventually, but all bigger triple A titles are still only gonna stay on Microsoft's own platforms. So likewise Nintendo is not gonna start releasing their triple A titles to other platforms either. Also important to note that not counting games like Outer Worlds and Wasteland 3 (both of which are made by now MS 1st party studios but were in development long before MS acquired them and are thus multiplatform titles) the only MS 1st party game that is out there on all platforms is Minecraft.... For example Cuphead developer never was owned by MS, MS only helped to fund the development of that game and as for Ori developer Moon Studios, they arent Microsoft's 1st party studio either, but 2nd party studio. So I hope that clears a bit where Microsoft's line goes/what games can you realisticly expect MS to release for Switch in future as well. Besides from Microsoft's point of view, the advantage here is that more people who would never play on PC or Xbox in the first place get now to get to experience these on Switch and that just gives them more sales/increases popularity of franchise like Ori.

I first played this on PC long before I learned that Nintendo and Microsoft were buddies and called it my #1 favorite game of all time. After realizing that the experience would be greater on console than on my senile laptop I started praying that it would somehow come to Switch due to not having an Xbox. When I saw that Cuphead was coming to switch I was ecstatic knowing that my hopes are actually realistic. Hearing that this was leaked made me extremely hyped to watch the showcase. Now... September can't come soon enough!

Ori and the blind forest was an exclusive to Xbox and PC since it's obviously Microsoft. Considering that Ori and the blind Forest is now coming to switch there is a chance that Ori and the will-of-the-wisps could be on the switch as well. But they are two separate companies so there is also the chance that they won't do it as well.

Honestly, I'd argue Sony's probably still on its high-horse. It's made statements saying it considers the Xbox One its competitor, and that the Switch isn't even one.

@@stormlegend302 Microsoft's current mission with gaming is about "shared experiences". The fact that Halo, their biggest 1st Party IP, is coming to Steam should be a big tell in that. Plus, their current strategies, while non-standard for consoles, are working. MC is a big enough company that they can keep supporting/iterating on their consoles for the casual audience, while the more hardcore gamers can play in their own, preferred way. Besides, not every Xbox game will come to Switch. Ori's a good few years old by now, and since the sequel's gonna be on Xbox, it's basically just them advertising (Saying "Hey, you like this game? Well, the sequels on our machine"). Honestly not a bad strategy imo.

I think I missed out by not playing "Ori & the Will o The Wisps" immediately after finishing "Ori & the Blind Forest" 5 years ago. The first game was so beautiful and so much fun. I should've played the sequel right away while the buttons, moves, attacks, etc still felt familiar. After a few play-throughs, I was able to beat "Blind Forest" on Hard Mode with no upgrades with ZERO DEATHS in under 3 hours, like a professional, earning Achievements that less that 1% of players unlocked. I'm still proud of those Achievements. But that was 5 years ago, so I've lost the muscle memory of the game's movements. I want to play "Blind Forest" again soon, and then play "Will o Wisps". I think those beautiful games would really cheer me up and bring me peace.
