Metroidvania in and of itself isn't directly a genre, it should rather be named a subgenre. Most of them are inherently platformers, they simply innovate and add other features, winding, varied paths, multiple abilities allowing you to progress and so on. Do you need it spelled out?

The Xbox One is a failure? Last time I checked it's still outselling the Switch by nearly 15 million and it's Microsoft's fourth biggest source of revenue, wouldn't call that a failure. And frankly I'd also love to see some Nintendo games come to Xbox, even if the likelihood is low

Microsoft's recent financial report stated that there were 59M active Xbox live users, with around 10M on Windows 10. You can do the math and see it's 15M ahead. I get it that the chance of Nintendo putting their games on Xbox is extremely low, but you can always dream and there's no need to be a dick about it.

I played this game on pc and seriously i love it so much. The art is absolutely stunning and the story is sad and beautiful. Not to mention that the background music is sooo good, definitely a must have for gamers.

Nintendo made a physical release of this a few months back for the Switch, Ori: The Collection. Comes with 6 collector cards and digital download codes for soundtracks.

Ori is a masterpiece. I'm so glad thousands more will get to experience it. Like many others, when I first played it on Xbox years ago, I thought "this feels like a Nintendo game that just happens to be on Xbox." I couldn't believe it when I heard it was coming to the switch. Music, visuals, story, and gameplay have rarely coalesced so well. Also, Ori is one of the most difficult high quality platformers out there - second only to Celeste. Prepare to die a lot... And enjoy every second of it.

a 12 Nice lighting, good looking art style and it runs at 60FPS without any frame drops. There are ports on the Switch, which look far worse and have some noticeable frame drops. So I'm glad there isn't any of that, in this one.

Well I can say this game lived up to its reputation,im already on my second play through it was good.For people who may not be very good at platformers to Metroidvanias get this game,its nowhere as unforgiving as Celeste or Hollow Knight if you were put off by those games.You can create checkpoints almost anywhere,and the definitive edition even has difficulty options if the game is still too tough for you.
