Thank you very much for watching! Yeah, these are definitely "OGs" that helped kick off many of our collections. About a year before you I was picking out one of my first mechanical watches, going back and forth between the Ray and the Seiko SKX. Ended up buying both, only to return the Ray. But now I own and enjoy them all!

After owning the Mako I, Ray I, Triton (with power reserve), Kanno and SKX in different moments my only and preffered diver is a blue Ray I. I know the movement on the Ray II is an upgrade (hacks and hand winds) but there's something special about the looks of the pusher at 2 o'clock. I just love it! The blue colour of the blue Mako is "too fake and plain". And the colour and sunburst on the Ray I feels way deeper. BTW, I upgraded the old scratched mineral glass by a sapphire cristal.

I think the Mako 2 is the best looking Orient watch. The Mako 3 doesn't look as good to me and isn't appealing to me like the Mako 2. The sword hands and the dial layout with the batons and numerals hybrid layout, and also the dimensions makes it one of the best looking watches ever made to me

@@MybeautifulandamazingPrincess I have three. I have no confidence in any of them that they'll keep good time or even not die while I'm wearing them - and they're all automatic. That's not to mention how cheap they felt when I first bought them. My assessment isn't based on anyone's review but on personal experience with them.

Mako II: the diver so nice I bought it *thrice* (black, blue, Pepsi) And at a price just north of 100.00 USD, and parts available, they're outstanding mod platforms. Cheap enough you can afford to hone your modding skills without too much at stake if you make a misstep

He's right tho. It's not May-coh, the right pronounciation is "Mah-koh". It's a Japanese watch and stores in Japan will take a few seconds to know what you're talking about if it's pronounced the other way. @@heybudi Uh, no, wrong. The watch, unnamed by the manufacturer, is Japanese; the unofficial name is not. Thee word, "Mako" (as in the shark) is a word derived from the Maori language, and it is pronounced with a long A and long I, hence MAY+KOH. Again, not Mack+O. A quick Google search can confirm all of this. I really don't understand the debate, this is like debating long A or short A in "cat". It's pronounced exactly as it is spelled, and the Mako shark that the watch is named after is quite common - this is not some ancient, stifled knowledge.
