Origin of Hakka Chinese (客家民系的由來)

This video explores the origin of the Hakka people from an ethnic point of view; where they came from, their earliest history, writing script, subgroups. They are the ethnic majority in southern Jiangxi and northeastern Guangdong.

Thank you for hakka's history. It's important for us to know. My great great parents have left their country in Canton. I'm the 4th generation living here in French Polynesia and hope one day i will go to my great great parents homeland.

Very interesting. My father was born in Tahiti and his family had a plantation there. He was Hakka and was sent back to China ( when it was Nationalist). Became the Chinese consular-general in the 1920’s and banned gambling and opium amongst the Chinese people there. He went back to China to fight the Japanese in the 30’s and was a General in Chiang Kai Shek’s army.

@@azulahuang3154 Sure, my father’s name was Paleon Yee. Not sure of his exact birthdate but I think it .would’ve been 1894. My father died in 1968 when I was 10 years old. His Chinese name was Yu Bart Leung. My parents came to New Zealand in 1940.

I enjoyed all the 8 subgroups of Hakka and its migrations. I believe the Punti-Hakka war (1855-1867) is historically accurate over the Hakka-Gufeng war in this video.
