The old guy is right though. In reality, nations that did not pursue fervent defence measures and update their combat capabilities with the times ended up getting colonized, invaded, or bombed. It's because it's Boruto that they are trying to play pacifism off as the right decision. This is why Boruto isn't popular with the older anime viewers. It's supposed to be heavier than one piece, but ends up like Pokémon for wanna be adults

I don't think Naruto was ever "heavier" than One Piece. Sure One Piece is silly but it also deals with intense topics such as genocide, slavery, and racism. Also if Boruto was heavy all the time than it would contradict the peace that was established at the end of Naruto.

This story is still about ninjas just because the whole concept changed and the story takes place in the future which boruto has done a great job at doing doesn't mean it's bad another thing predictable like really lol naw far from it. The only thing Boruto has going for it is that Kawaki Battle, all this crap is really just filler. Everyone thought the Infinite Dream Arc was going to be long this is going to top that by a long shot...nothing but Filler just fucking get to Kawaki vs Boruto battle already. the boy is like 8 or 10 years old...I hope they don't just plan to do a whole filler from when he was 10 till when he was 20.
